90 and 57....90!!! and 57!!!! That's what i just got on my download and upload test on the speedtest.net app!!

I have started having crappy signal at my work for the past week. Finally i called verizon and there are no tower outages or anything they are aware of. Yes, i am in a building, but i have been in the same building for almost 2 years and with verizon for 1 year. I have always had 3 out of 4 bars of 3g service. Now my DB will say -85 or -90 which i know is fine but i'll have 0 of 4 bars or at best 1 and it will be 1x!!!!

I'm friekin' out because having no signal at work sucks. i'm missing calls and forget about downloading an app, it takes forever if it works. So my question is, did 2.2 do this? I got the OTA and it's been happening almost as long as i've had 2.2. i got 2.2 on the 22nd like everyone else and it probably started on the 24th.

Or is this simply a case of Verizon having to release an Alltel tower or something or a roaming agreement running out and now i am just screwed? I think this may be the case since nothing else seems to make sense. Oh and i did walk a city block away from my building outside and it's the same: -88 to -96 signal but 0 bars or at best 1 bar.

what happened to my poor droid x? now my battery life is sucking too because it's always searching for a signal and wearing itself out!!!

Sad, sad, sad. Again, only in the last week has this happened to me. I'm rooted but i had stock 2.1 and got the official 2.2 ota. only rooted so i could rename bloatware. my phone had AMAZING reception before! I even saw a -59 once which i'd never got down to on my droid 1 (mostly low -80's).

You should NOT download any apps at work! Your bosses installed cell-phone-signal blocker on the roof!! :p J/K

Did you buy a new kind-o-fancy cover for your Dx lately? Or, how is the signal in other places, away from where you work? If it is OK elsewhere, than obviously there must be "something new" at your work area interfering with cell signals. IDK, just thinking.....

Good thoughts. No cover. Ever since i bought the extended battery i have been rollin' naked with my Droid X. Love it. Also, i asked the IT guys at my work that i'm friends with and they say they have never had a signal disruptor like at other offices because all top management here has blackberries and they need signal. So if they have anything here, it's a signal booster.

But again, same building with Verizon and droid 1, now droid x, for 2 years and this only started happening last week. And i'm in the suburbs west of Chicago which is a strong 3g signal area all over.

it's very odd....and sad!!!

Maybe try the Factory Reset discussed on one of the threads here?

Already did that. In fact, i think that may be part of my problem. See i got the 2.2 OTA and had excellent signal for 2 days. The ONLY thing i found wrong with my phone is with Launcher Pro Plus i was not able to assign custom swipe gestures. It would always give me an error message and i was copying it exactly from the website.

So i thought a factory reset would help and it didn't. Still can't assign the custom swipe gestures to the dock bar icons and now my signal is terrible.

call tech support 800 922 0204. They'll try a few things and perhaps give you a new phone.

I just did for 40 minutes and she "trouble shot" a couple things, nothing helped. She said i needed to try it outside and if it was still a problem she could submit a trouble ticket to the engineers. If she submitted one just based on indoor signal, it would bounce back to her.

Oh and i bought my phone off craigslist so i have no warranty. It's has been a 100% perfect phone up until the last week though....:(

No warranty? Ugh! Hopefully someone here will have better advice on this for you.

yeah it was nice because i traded an lg ally, palm pre plus and psp for it so i didn't spend a dime and got a really nice phone. I had bought the lg ally for 80 and the pre plus for 115 off craigslist.

so it's not like i'll be out tons of money. it just sucks to not have signal.

A couple things I didn't see you mention. Is anyone else having this issue? That will tell you if it's just your phone or a widespread thing. What about outside near the building? Is it also worse, or the same as always. If multiple people are having issues and if outside reception is worse then I'd call back and make then file a ticket.

I guess i do have an update. Yes, other people are having this issue. My wife who has a verizon moto flip phone gets no signal here. A coworker with an older verizon bar phone has no reception here. And a friend who works close by who i helped root his droid 1 has gotten terrible reception just this week.

I did a walk around the block and the reception was just as bad. What is crazy is i picked up my wife yesterday who works maybe 3 or 4 blocks away and i did the speedtest again and i got 1.5mb down and 700k up. (ie "normal"). So it's like my office building and the surrounding block just became this super weird bermuda triangle of reception. When i was at home last night, internet was BLAZING on my wifi and on 3g.

So i am going to call Verizon back today and tell them about the outside and hopefully the engineers have a solution. I hope it's not just that Verizon lost a tower to some other cell company and now i'm screwed.

But yeah, it's not just my phone, it's not 2.2, it's not launcher pro, it's the network in this area.
