The "how much memory should I have" question is very much "how long is a piece of string". You'd have over 100mb if you didn't install any apps at all, but how much you end up with depends on the number of apps, not the size. I go through mine every now and then and remove ones I don't use, but my free memory after a cache clearing session is just below 30mb. Like you my biggest app is Maps (although after updating it's nearer to 9mb), but I certainly don't have enough space to install the latest Flash update which takes up 15mb when installed (bear in mind most apps take up more space than their advertised size on Market). Google aren't exactly leading the charge on the move to SD front though - if more of their applications could be moved I'd have loads more free space.

With regard to the sd card, bear in mind that this is a fairly new option and that many Devs are amateurs, so although FroYo's been available for a few weeks now not all of them will have had chance to add the move to SD element yet. It might be worth installing something like SDWatch which is free, takes up about 40kb, but tells you which apps can be moved from the phone as you install them. Other than that go into Settings > applications and run through all of your apps (if you haven't already done so) and the "move to SD" will be highlighted if any of them can be moved. Also remember that not all of the app gets transferred, all of them still have some data on the phone even after the move to sd.

thx for replies yea used williams noob guide and worked, still doesnt save all memory.... yea the new flash takes about 14 and wont go to sdcard grrrrr maps and contacts and flash are my biggest files ...will try the app mentioned thx :)

If you're running FroYo you already have a working version of Flash (10.1.72 or similar) so you could consider uninstalling the 15mb update and sticking with the older "embedded" version. I doubt that many of us would be able to tell the difference between the two anyway.

it's not that difficult, if you really want to do it:

http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/174345-how-move-apps-sd-card-unrooted-device-noobs-guide.html

of course, you could always stay as "lazy" as the developers...

I've already performed that trick successfully and now have nearly all my downloaded apps on SD (totaling less than 40), but I'm still left with a ridiculous 14MB worth of internal memory.
Can anyone help? Am I missing something fundamental I should be deleting? I even clear my caches frequently...
