This comes from droidxforums, just passing this on, all credit goes to drod2169

You may know me from my Rubik releases for the droid 1.. Well recently I purchased a Droid X. I couldn't stand the phone stock, so of course I got busy. I've been working on this for quite a while, gone through quite a bit of bricks, sbf flashes, and passing it to my testers cause I couldn't afford to brick at the time.

I bring you the first release of the rubiX series for the Droid X. rubiX Focused, It is a blurless rom

Tranquility 2.3.5 base (2.2.3.15 base) thanks to p3droid, motorola (hah) and google
Build.Prop tweaks (thanks to Beesley)
Market fix
All apps optimized/zipaligned (Credit to me)
ADW Launcher as stock launcher (No more laggy blur home!)
Bloatware removed (Credit to me)
135.42 MB free in System! Speedy

Few more things that I'd like to keep secret for the time being

This rom is VERY speedy, stable, and loveable. It'll make you want to laugh in Moto's face for the locked bootloader.

Reboot Recovery
Nandroid Backup (Just in case you don't want to keep my rom or something goes wrong)
Advanced

Select rubiX0.3Focused.zip
Select Yes
Reboot System
Enjoy

The first boot will take a while, so be patient with it loading.

I am NOT responsible by any means for ANYTHING that may happen to your phone. Blame Motorola for locking the bootloader!

Flash this, Drod2169 has calender and brightness fixes.

Use Bootstrap and make sure you mount the system, you can not flash these at the same time I think it unmounts the system after the first .zip

Calendar:
calendarfix.zip

Brightness:
brightnessfix.zip

Ohhh god no....Jake Day is back...I will be staying away from this one, after his Droid Incredible antics ...

I guess you're talking about the Incredible rooting hoax. I thought that wasn't him? Apparently someone created a fake account on Alldroid and posted that they (Jake Day) had rooted the Droid Incredible.

Anyway, I'm interested in trying this but need two questions answered.
1. Is this based off the OTA?
2. Currently on Tranquility 2.3.3. Can I install RubiX over Tranquility or do I need to SBF back to stock?

Thanks

This is what im wondering.. Without SBF for 2.2 yet im a little nervous for installing stuff like this. I hope there is someone brave out there lol

I tried this ROM - definitely not an upgrade from where I was at before. Went back to my nAndroid after about 15 minutes playing with this...

Spending SO many hours perfecting a particular setup makes it far less enticing to take part in any incremental upgrades...I wonder what it will take for me to make the leap at this point?

P.S. I'm still using Fabolous' port of Revolution...ideal theme for me!

Potentially stupid question, but won't Format Data reformat your SD card, therefore removing the rubiX0.3Focused.zip? Or does a data format only remove all your apps and their settings on the internal 8GB storage and not touch the SD card?

I'm fairly certain its the latter, but I want to be sure before I attempt those directions.

Formatting data just removes apps and user settings.

If you have some apps installed on your SD card using Froyo's apps2sd feature, it'll delete those (I'm pretty sure)
