End call with power button?

Agreed, but I don't think the OP was talking about that issue. He just wants a physical end call button. Actually, I would have preferred physical buttons on the Droid also. But, physically it's really easier for me to thumb tap the screen than to manipulate the phone and try to press the power button.

Not when the phone has its screen shut off and you are shaking your phone rigorously just to get the screen on.

Hi! That was happening to me too, but I realized that what was keeping the screen from coming back on was my finger over the sensor at the top left of my screen! Even if I had my hand or finger on top of the phone in that general area the screen would not come back on during a call. Removing my hand/finger from that sensor solved my problem. Hope that helps...

Instead of shaking your phone vigorously to get it to wake up, try covering the proximity sensor for a second and then uncovering it, that should wake it up.

You can push the power button if you want, but it won't make the screen come back on and it sure won't end the call, and I am not aware of an app that will do that.

The way I hold the phone, not really. My index finger is right next to the sleep button. I don't know why I do it though. I did it the last 4 times I was getting off the phone.

Former Crackberry user? Or WinMo? I'm a former WinMo user and miss having physical call / end buttons on the sides of my old Samsung. But anyway, I'd try just holding the phone 'normally'. Not sure what else to tell ya. This is one of those it's-just-the-way-it-is things w/ Android.

I don't want to lose any of the few additional things I love so much about my Droidafter months of screwing around with ROMs, etc, finally getting as many features as I can just for the few things that Froyo offers. One thing it offers is the "end call with pwr button", which can't be more than a simple gardware hack.
-So the resurrection of this thread is actually a big disappointment. I thought someone was offering just the hack.

yes there is go to settings click on accessibility go to the bottom where it says power button ends call click box on the right so green check lights up

Thanks for reminding of where this setting is located! I had the opposite problem. I remember stumbling across this setting once and turning it on. Then it started driving me crazy because I would accidentally hang up on people when trying to lock the screen to slip the phone back in my pocket (with headset on). I went through all the menus and couldn't find it again.
