Does anyone elses X suck since the upgrade? I loved this phone before, but I am starting to really dislike it now. It seems like everything lags now, no matter what is opening or closing. Even deleting e-mails takes substanitally longer. The other major complaint I have is if I download any type of document from the internet, I get a quick flash of the last document viewed whenever I open or close the browser. This lasts until I restart the phone.

I am experiencing normal issues?

I have the lag issue, some say a factory reset and SD card format fixes it but it didn't for me. I would give the reset a try to see if it works for you. Search for the thread about "people with problems since 2.2, look here" or something similar. I'll try to find the thread and post a link.

I followed the instructions in that thread last night just to be on the safe side. I just got my DX yesterday so I dont really know how it was with 2.1 :D Been great so far.

I don't think it sucks, overall, but I enjoyed and thought the phone was much better on 2.1. I just wish there were a way to go back cause I'd be the first one to go back to 2.1 and just leave the phone alone at this point.

...and you can count me as part of those that have wiped the phone several times. It doesn't help. Just give me back 2.1. :(

The only problem I'm having is the battery manager force closing on me every once in a while.. Everything else has been a great upgrade.

@GrandmasterB: Hey what's up. I remember you from the Incredible forums.. I guess you made the switch huh? The X is definitely a better choice if you ask me. The only thing I miss is the AMOLED but I like the 4.3 inch screen more. A 4.3 inch AMOLED would be awesome!

I still have my Incredible just in case I decide to go back but overall so far it has been better in every aspect than my Incredible was. Much more solid build, vibration is stronger and more precise and the 4.3" screen makes a huge difference and overall its really not much bigger than my Incredible was IMO. I am a pretty big guy and I think the size fits me well. Call quality is great too. It takes a little getting used to going back to LCD but overall it looks more more natural than the neon looking Incredibles AMOLED did.

HOWEVER, twice today I have paused my music and then tried resuming later only to get the error message saying unsupported format for music that was already playing. Then the DX wont play anything until I reboot. I am getting a little frustrated and its only day 2 so I hope somebody has a fix

well the month and a half i have had 2.2 on my x, i wouldn't trade it for anything! it runs really well and can't complain at all

+1 to that.

I had my DX on 2.1 for a week before the OTA became available - it was pretty good then, but once I completed the OTA all I saw was an overall improvement in speed, smoothness and functionality (I have had the batt mgr FC on me a couple times, but that's not a big deal to me). I also ran Quadrant before and after the OTA and saw an improvement of about 200 in the score after Froyo. No slowdowns or any similar degrading as posted above on my DX since the upgrade.

I'm wondering if there may still be a few bad phones out there that just didn't handle the OTA well. Some people (first adopters?) have posted in other threads that they had to swap out their phones once - or more - to fix problems they had.

It might also be interesting to hear what the Quadrant scores are for those who have the issues reported above. I would guess that their scores might be on the low side, which might be indicative of a hardware problem? I was seeing about 1230 on 2.1 and then low to mid 1400 after Froyo. Anyone with the above problems run Quadrant and what were the results?

EDIT: I also wanted to add that I've seen a MAJOR increase in battery life since the 2.2 update. I'm now over two and a half days since fully charged and battery is at 40%. Since I took it off the charger I've used it as a movie player, ipod, and phone besides surfing the web. I wasn't even seeing a full 24 hours before on 2.1 - amazing!

Hmmmm. that would piss me off real bad. I have never encountered that issue. Did u try doing a factory reset and formatting the sd card after u did the ota? I always like to start totally fresh after big updates.

I would also go into privacy settings and uncheck automatic restore right after you do a factory reset. U need to check back up my data first, then uncheck auto restore, then uncheck backup data. maybe some old settings are conflicting, idk.

If u can't find a fix bring that back to verizon and get a new one.. That sh@t ain't right.

Yeah, I did the factory reset skipping sign in and unchecked the backup options AND even formatted the sdcard, something I have never bothered doing before. Wouldn't be that big of a deal except I stream music for an average of 8 hours a day 6 days a week. I always have music playing so I am thinking its more likely to happen to me than other people.

I have read other people having the same problem since the 2.2 update. I really wish I could have gotten a good feel for 2.1 on the DX before updating so I would know whats 2.2 funky or just DX funky :)

Couldn't agree more.

I'd love to see some of these problems in action. From mine and the 7 other people I know who did the Froyo upgrade, everything has been roses.

I've also never had the battery monitor FC on me under 2.2. It happened once in 2.1, but I figured that time that if you shut off wifi, it worked again. Only happened that one time, and never since, both on 2.1 and 2.2 (both with wifi on or off).
