OK...so maybe everybody else already knows this (and has been snickering at my oblivious state), but I have had my D2 for weeks and had no idea until tonight...the D2 email client allows searching by sender and subject line!

Finally - at least some semblance of search in exchange email on the Droid! :D

Open the email inbox, tap the search icon and the keyboard appears - but no search box. When I'd seen that before I thought it was just an odd defect.

When you start typing the letters you type appear above the keyboard and the emails are filtered on subject/sender by what you type.

Very cool...would like to have things like sorting by subject/sender, and searching contents, but heck, getting any search at all in exchange email on the Droid is great...does not exist in stock 2.2.

Hopefully I'm not the only one who didn't know. I'm on the 2.3.15 leak...no idea if it is in 2.2.20 as well...

Now I'm going to go do some more investigating - I heard a rumor that the Droid supports Gmail! ;)

40 views and no comments...either:

1. Everyone already knew about this and is sparing me their "DOH!" comments
2. I'm the only one using exchange email on a Droid who cares about search
3. My presentation ("Underarm Farts: A Multi-Cultural Retrospective") at the last Droid BBQ offended you all and no one is speaking to me anymore...

Dayum...I thought this was big news myself.

:D
