Root quadrant score?

can someone explain the quadrant score to me and if it really means anything? last weekend when i first rooted my DX seemed super fast. had a score of 1580+. then i bricked it and now with almost the exact same set up the most i get is 1403. i dont know if maybe i need to clear out some memory or is there another way to improve it. im running 2.3.15. then i had 2.3.13 but i thought the newer one would be an improvement. idk now.

well im not sure, but i remember reading somewhere that the quadrant score can vary, for what seems no reason.

Pretty disappointed in my rom so far..

Running a leaked 2.2 without bloatware and seeing about 1580 on my X

My Moto Droid scored 1508 with bugless beast v.04 OC'd.

Hopefully a solid OC will get us above the 2k mark.

WOW! my scored can go from around 800 to 1450... Maybe something is wrong with my phone. lol

I'm now using flyx and got a 1499 but I've had it as low as 850. Thinking about going back to .15. I'd like to see if I could run that on top of flyx but I think it'll just overwrite it. Anybody try out the r2d2 version of froyo yet?

are you sure that youre not running the deodexed version with stagefright mod?

because ive never heard of a 1780 on a stock dx. just cracking 1600 seems to be the upper limits

I wouldnt put too much stock in these benchmarks. My droid 1 could put up as high or higher benchmarks in most if not all benchmark apps but the DX is a much faster phone in real world usage.

If you phone is running well who cares if quadrant gives you a score of 200 it just is not a good measure of real world functionality.

Good point. I see so many people using this as proof they're phone is better but is it a solid test. With sragefright they say the score can be 2500 but it doesn't mean anything

i have quadrant installed but i never test it. my phone flies and i don't need numbers to tell me what i already know.

im starting to feel the same way. scores are the same yet my phone seems to be running better thanks to a few reboots after installing flyx. for the first few days i couldnt get my facebook contacts to sync. now everything is running smooth and i cant decide if i want to try out another rom. we need to have a thread for rooters to talk about which roms they have and what they like best. kind of a "rom review". only from people that actually know what theyre talking about. i def not the type to give advice. im full of questions myself. just a sponge trying to soak in all the smart guys knowledge....

yup.the thing is. everyones phone is different. and depending on the installed apps and settings each will have different results. right now i am running the leaked 2.3.13 with my blackbar mod theme. it still has all the bloatware but i just froze most of it with titanium backup. if the bootloader ever gets hacked you will for sure see some awesome roms and kernels that will surpass any of the current moto roms. i was used to tinkering with my D1 and installing new roms and kernels everyday. so in a way it is nice to have a phone that limits that a little. it allows me to focus on other things.

i have the donated version of tibu but i havent installed it yet. ive been wanting to freeze some of this stuff for a while now but my laptop needs a new motherboard...again...and i dont want to fork out $800 for parts and labor. might as well buy a new one but i spent $2500 the broken one. anyways, the tibu email says i have to open the file on a pc. can i just do it on my phone? ive extracted zips on my DX before but i cant figure out how to get it out of the email. i also tried the black bar mod but couldnt get it to install. and, for some reason, my phone has been dropping calls like crazy since i installed flyx so i think its time to move on....
