WA
OK so Im in WA State so all the local radio meatheads are trumpeting how King Felix merits the Cy Young this year. I've been hearing for weeks locally and now even the national espn radio hosts are jumping on this topic. Its an intriguing argument and Im sure he'll get votes like he did last year.
So even though this seems like more of a football community I think there's a few baseball fans in here.?.
Anyway, cast your vote.

If you look at stats and not win/loss record no question King Felix should win.

Yeah I actually looked at the stats hard and I did cast my own vote here FWIW for Hernandez. It really is open this year. CC will get votes and so will Price. Lester really blew it last night. Had he gotten to 20 wins with his innings and K's he could have gotten some votes. But I mean really I listen to a ton of espnradio and I've heard some wacky thoughts. Some people like Buchholz. I've even heard Cliff Lee or Weaver as top 3 finishers .
Anyway, it'll be interesting

Buchholz I think is going to get ruled out since he has only thrown like 170 some innings. I think all of the sabermetrics guys are going to get Felix a lot of votes.

Living in the Seattle area I feel like I have to pick Felix, but if you look at all the stats, including win/loss, he deserves it. The M's were horrible this year, winning as many games as he did with that run support was amazing. The kids a beast and he's going to do nothing but get better, as of now he's the only hope the M's have at building any kind of team in the future.

Which is exactly why they are in horrible shape for the future. Their best player plays what 35 games a year? They need some bats

They have been abusing King Felix's arm, imho. He's 24 years old and they have him pitching well over 190 IP per year for 5 consecutive seasons. That's not exactly good for his arm and the future of their team.

The Mariners are in rebuild mode and unfortunately for them they could just be risking their franchise player.

I agree with both of you. The M's are going to ruin this kids arm, my guess is that he has his first major shoulder/elbow surgery by the time he's 27. I think it's funny how they say that their reasoning for not letting him pitch in the season finale is they don't want to overwork him, but what have they been doing his entire career.

For the M's to stand any chance in the next 5 years, they need to blow-up just about the whole team. It's really amazing for how high their payroll is, how little talent they have when it comes to hitters.

And the sad part is they could have decent guys but they just don't. Decent players come there and just blah. Im a RedSox guy and arguably this year our MVP was Adrian Beltre who did next to nothing as an M; but flourished in a decent line-up. And Figgins this year, oh me oh my. They got nothing for Cliff Lee. I see no hope for them, none at all. Chalk up another 100 loses next year unless something titanic happens this off season

Yeah, it's not looking to good, there really isn't much hope for the future either. I'm not nearly as big of a baseball fan as I was growing up, but I still root for the M's. Until the bring some young power into the lineup they don't stand a chance. It doesn't matter what kind of pitching you have when you can't score runs. The M's clubhouse is where once good/great players come to die. Besides bringing some exciting young players in, we need to get a coach with some fire and experience, which hasn't been the case since Sweet Lou left.

Agreed. Well Ken Macha is going to be available tomorrow. He always got a lot out of Oakland when they had next to nothing. Although the Wak ties might make that a no-go. Yeah M's need to big bats. Yes, they'll have to overpay but they need to do it. The RedSox want Adrian Gonzalez, the M's need him

You have to consider that his tenure with the Mariners was full of injury. Everyone knew the type of tools Beltre brought to the table with stellar defense and a quality bat but now that he's healthy he'll provide the pop the Boston lineup needs for a middle of the lineup guy.

Yeah we needed him this year. He was about the only starter that didnt spend significant time on the DL this year. Geez was Boston a traveling hospital this year
