Well thats the last time I do a good dead for a stranger!

I went round to my mates earlier and as I got out of my car one of his naughbours was trying to start his motorbike so I offered to give him a push start.

As I was running along I felt something hit my knee, as I looked down I saw my X10 flying to the ground and right in front of the back wheel. Just at the time he released the clutch and the back wheel locked and well Im sure you can guess what happened.

OMG, noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you take out the optional insurance? Oh mate what a nightmare. Mind you I did read on XDA that a bloke in India's got run over by a bus and still worked... just didn't look too pretty.

I read about that too, considering it was a bus than ran over it it wasn't that bad.

powerkiter, do you have insurance that covers accidental damage? or even insurance that doesn't cover accidental damage, you could just say you lost it if it covers lost phones

No, seriously, thats pretty sad Powerkiter.

Two things.

1 Get another X10 and stay on this forum, where would we be without you.

2 Just had a look at your apps on app brain and the thought occurs that someone could start a thread where folks can put links to their apps on app brain (CuBz and rosered for instance).

It could be a job for you, take your mind off your sad loss. Either that or Glenmorangie.

Well if you can tell me where to get the parts I might have a look, the glass and the LCD is gone but no idea about the touch screen part?

I would also need the chrome plated bezel, buttons and basicly the whole outer casing! I'm sure the excess would be cheaper?

@ Rose, Alcohol was an influence but on the old K750 the jog stick would get sand under it and jam. Usually a light thwack of the phone against a hard object would clear the grain of sand. On said night I was having a mild row with the gf via text and the grain of sand stayed jammed in situe and after more than a light thwack against a kitchen worktop the screen broke.

I walked out side and said "look at that!" to my cousin and know I had insurance threw it over my shoulder and it landed on the BBQ! As I was aiming for a broken screen on the claim I shouted a few swear words and my cousin said:

"Its OK I will sort it out"

And walked up to the BBQ skilfully picked up the tongs and with a swift and deft touch he picked the phone up...

Then turned the fecking thing over and just walked away!

I kid you not :D

@ Zlanu, It was a mates neighbour and to be honest I asked him if he wanted help and if a stranger offered to help you in that situation and then said "Oi I broke my phone helping you! I want some cash!" what would you say to said stranger?

As for what phone?

I will stick with the X10 for the reasons I have stayed with it so far even after announcing I was going to get rid of it and sparking a lot of hate for the phone on here a while back :D

The only phone that comes close to the X10 for what I want is the Desire and when rooted the only thing I cant do on my 1.6 that my mates Desire does on 2.2 that I like is play Flash videos and most kiters post their videos on Vimeo which is Flash based.

But the Desire is that short, fat ugly bird at 2am that will try harder and make you an egg and bacon sarnie in the morning! Not because she want to but because she is hungry. The X10 is that slinky bird with fake boobs, nails, tan, hair and you would sell your granny to buy her a drink but when you get her home you realise it was all a big lie.

As the extensions fall out, the nails fall off, the fake tan rubs off yet not only is she still better looking than the fat bird, but she wakes you with the egg and bacon plus a coffee so you put up with the lies that drew you in because she is better in other ways :D

Here are the sort of videos we (kiters) stick on Vimeo, this is me and a couple of mates having a giggle at the beach for you mild entertainment :D

I think its got new phone written all over it. I work on building sites, and sooner or later most of the phones I have ever owned have come to a spectacular end. 100 foot drop off scaffolding, they dont like that very much, nor getting sawn in half, (by your mate!!!) nor having a pallet of bricks placed on top of them.
I have yet to try the BBQ'd both sides trick yet though.

You can try to consider the Galaxy S 9000 mate, i have it, its good. My next choice will be HTC Desire of course. Or wait for the X11 or X12. But, sorry for your X10, it deserve a hero's salute!

LMAO :D

If I was in your position, I would slice a pocket in the skin on my leg and sew a zip on it, slide my phone into my leg and zip it closed :D (My imagination is wild (and disturbing))

I know 2 people that have had experience with the Xperia X10 and the Galaxy S 9000, and both have said they prefer the Xperia, as much problems as the Xperia has, the Galaxy had much more problems (As they say)

Also some members of this forum have said exactly the same. Due to this, I'm glad I didn't get the Galaxy S as I originally planned

I obviously cannot agree nor disagree as I have never had any experience with the Galaxy S 9000, some people may prefer it to the Xperia :)

I guess so, because it is also important that our manufacturers have a good support, as with Samsung being Korean, it is not so good. So as many complained with SE support. All phones have pros-cons, no one builds a perfect one. haha..:p

I totally agree! I have always received great support from SE, but they are very slow and unreliable with their updates. Also they lie, alot. When someone reports a problem, they always say it is the first time they have had reports of that problem, even if thousands of people have reported it.

I have never owned a Samsung, thus cannot comment on their support, but from what I have read online, they don't seem to be any good.

But on the other hand, nobody seems to have good support nowadays. T-Mobile for instance, they deny saying things, all the time. I gave them a call in June, asking if I could upgrade early, and they was alright with it, they said to call back in a couple of weeks and they will send me an Xperia X10. I gave them a call back, and they denied saying it, and asked me to provide proof of the conversation. Something similar has happened many times. This is why I now have to record every single call I make to customer service  (Sorry I went slightly off-topic then. I have a tendency of doing that )
