Hi guys.
Im thinking of calling T-mobile UK today. First just to let you all know im in the UK and what im talking about is for the UK only. We all now know that the SE X10 will not support or get multi-touch in the 2.1 android update coming later this month. But the phone was advertised with multi-touch by SE. I contacted SE UK and told them I did not want my X10 because of no multi-touch and they told me to contact T-mobile. T-mobile told me to contact SE UK back and forth we go. If im correct I believe the problem lies with T-mobile as they are the people who sold me the phone, and under UK law the X10 is now not fit for purpose. Im not looking to get out of my contract just get a hand set with multi-touch. Do I stand a chance????? I will keep you all posted.

Spot the difference!?!?

Will it stand up in court? Who knows.

Glad to be of service! Plus I am with Tmobile too so its me just being curious about what they will admit to and what potentially they will do about it. I will keep my phone got an amazing deal on an upgrade and better tariff too so I don't feel perhaps as cheated as some who are paying through the nose for it. I don't really care about MT (ok so shoot me now!) and actually quite like what the X10 can do as far as my use goes.

Keep us informed.

Colin,

How did you manage that?

I've been trying to get them to change my x10 quoting "not fit for purpose" as the incoming call volume is crap, and even with my hearing aids in i can barely hear it..... I only got it at the beginning of sept 2010

might have to try the multitouch side of it, can you give me a breakdown on what you said to them? and how they responded if possible?

Thanks

I used to hate T-Mobile, seriously, I would slag them off to everybody saying they were the worst carrier. But last year I decided to get a contract phone, and T-Mobile seemed to have the best deals.

So I got the Nokia 5800 on T-Mobile and completely changed my view of T-Mobile. Their customer service was better than any other carrier (I have been with every single UK carrier in my life time lol).

Everytime I had a problem, they would try their best to solve it for me, and when my phone was damaged, they sent me a replacement the next day.

The one problem I have with T-Mobile, is they tend to deny saying things. Like when they told I me I could upgrade to the Xperia 2 months early, I rang them up a few days later very excited, saying I wanted to take up their offer of an early upgrade, and they denied saying it and asked me for proof. One of the many reasons I record every call I make to T-Mobile customer service. But all in all, it is the best network I have been on, and I don't understand why alot of Xperia X10 users on T-Mobile, are blaming T-mobile for Sony Ericsson's slow release of the 2.1 update

Well i have DM'd them a few times on Twitter regarding the 2.1 update and from what i can gather - they will have it out OTA within days of a Sony release (supposedly) - not exactly something to complain about

would understand if they'd keep users waiting for months but it sounds like they are gonna be well on top of this

Basically - T-Mob rocks :D

Well I also DM'd them last week, and was told it would be released before the end of November, so I just assumed it wouldn't be released until the end of November lol

With my Nokia 5800, T-Mobile were very VERY slow at releasing the updates, I would get the update months later, one time I got the update 5 months later, it was a joke

I got the HTC Desire this morning and what a surprise . It far exceeds my expectations, after the initial boot or setup it informed me of a system update and I accepted it. It updated from Android 2.1 to 2.2, The multi-touch is fantastic yes rosered i have to send the X10 back to T-mobile shame as I would love to keep it. The reason I got a replacement hand set from T-mobile is because I explained that im getting on in years and my eyesight is far from perfect and that is the reason I need multi-touch and thats the reason its not fit for purpose. The Sony style website is in the USA but it is an official Sony website giving the specks on Sony products. As i have said T-Mobile are second to non and I did thank every one at T-Mobile for a speedy and satisfactory outcome. All of you with the Experia X10 just be a little patient when you do get your upgrade I believe you will be so happy 2.1 is a dream..... Thanks to every one on this forum for your help and interest in this matter Colin

Hi again Colin

But yes that certainly does help. Although i have the X10 it is the only Android phone i've had so didn't know the multitouch would be so useful around the whole system, i thought it was just web browser etc like the iPhone (yuk!)

many thanks for your input, much appreciated - and hope the desire does you well, though it will be a shame to lose you from the X10 forum
