Help Volume key kind of shakey "loose"

if by shakey you mean that for example, phone is on ringer..level one..so that means it only require one press down, to set it to vibrate..and i press it, and it jumps 2 levels and goes silent..then i press up and it jumps 2 levels up..so i have to press down again, and who knows, it might go back to silent or it might actually only go down one level into vibrate...pretty annoying

Ouch, no. I just mean shaky/loose, play in the button.

my volume key is very loose, also, the power button is flush with the sides of the phone which makes it very hard to press........verizon sales person wouldn't exchange the phone even after i showed her the power button on their display models was not as 'buried' as mine. she said to call samsung, how helpful of her! it seems like a minor point but considering the only way to turn the screen on is with the power button, it becomes a major p.i.t.a. when you have to deal with it all day. btw, i also have a samsung vibrant and it has neither of those problems.

Typical lack of customer service from an in store rep. Either try a manager or call CS *611 they are always helpful

yes, she was not nice about it at all. i told her i would just return the phone then, and she replied '35 dollar restocking fee', very snotty. i called customer service and they offered to replace it, no restocking fee but they are out of stock! i'll probably just return it and go back to my droid x, i'm NOT paying $6oo for a phone that feels like it's held together with rubber bands, lol. for the most part it's a really nice phone, though the phone part is not as good as the droid x.

Very common them with Verizon. Outstandingly helpful phone reps and atrocious in store reps

^^^ dittos to all the above. If you have 'problems' with store reps then just deal with CS reps over the phone rather than suffer any aggravation.

hmm, I've had a loose volume rocker on all three Fascinates... never really bothered me tho' but I totally understand if it might nag at you every time you use your phone.

I had the exact same problem with my 2nd one and I've already said it here, it really was a ***** trying to press/depress it all day long... not to mention that the display kept freezing up particularly when I'd get an incoming call. I called *611, got put through to tech support and first mentioned the power button problem. Before I could even mention the display freezing up on me, he cut me off and told me it was a hardware issue and they'll send me another one.

Yeah its like the Ying and Yang of the universe. The phone reps are so good and the in store reps are so bad

i bought it at a verizon retail store and it's not really the loose, rattling volume key that bothers me so much, it's the flush power button....you wouldn't think it's that big of a deal but since it's the only way to wake the screen it IS a big deal...most of the time i end up pressing the volume key by mistake if i'm doing it one handed. i'm used to dealing with tmobile, who used to replace phones for me no questions asked, customer service was, and is, fantastic with them....unfortunately, there is no tmobile 3g where i now live so i went back to verizon for the first time in several years...NOT impressed with their retail store support, lol.

Mine is actually tight, like some times i touch the up volume to put it on tick up, and it goes all the way up, i am going to switch it out probably, if yours is loose i would do the same thing.

I am thinking about it. I am just worried I exchange it, and get
one with something else wrong. This phone is flawless beside
the loose volume key, so I am kind of worried to exchange it.
It almost sounds like the key being tight may not be good
either, since yours moves the volume all the way up, on
one click.

i noticed my volume rocker switch is a little loose feeling.....although it works fine, im not worried about it, not a big enough deal to take time out of my day to try to get it replaced for nothing....

the power button is flush on mine as well, which i thought was a design feature, i like it, i cant accidentally hit it, its really easy to find and press, i am happy with it flush

I bought 3 SF's all 3 have the "loose" volume rocker. I think its how the rocker is meant to be. On my SF the power button is flush, another is a little exposed, and the other I don't know about.

Its easy to press, but on my flush button I find it harder to find the button all together, why make it so small?

Well that makes me feel better about my volume key now.
It seems like most of these smartphones have such tiny
power buttons, even the Droid 1 does.
