Yeah stats are close. Jimenez just has been too inconsistent since the All Star Break. Wainwright and Halladay are nearly identical in stats. Again, I think the difference [right or wrong] will be Halladay has the perfect game and his team is playoff bound.
My vote goes to Halladay. He has dominated the NL like no other pitcher this year (perfect game pitched). Not to mention he has 20+ IP over Wainwright and is leading the NL in K's (granted not by much).
Halladay has the following over Wainwright
the perfect game
4 more complete games and 2 more shutouts
20 more innings pitched
26 less walks and 6 more strike outs.
I am from PA and a Phillies fan (so I am slightly biased)
The rest of their stats are almost exactly the same though.

Yeah, he placed 2nd last year as well. Carpenter finished 3rd in the voting last year too. Cards had a stellar staff last season but just didn't perform in the post season.

Yes thats right. They probably took votes from each other and that gave little Timmy his 2nd straight. I bet Lincecum doesnt get a single 1st place vote this year
Nope, he won't. He pitched pretty damn good down the stretch but Halladay, Wainwright and Jimenez were just that much better overall throughout the entire season.

Yeah Jimenez really had some back luck not getting to 21 or even 22 wins let alone 20 but also was very inconsistent. Some loses he deserved and some ND's should have been wins. But it is what it is. He should be third in the voting methinks
You forgot that it was his first playoff appearance in his career. Absolutely amazing performance last night from the Doc. I'm def rooting for him in the Cy Young votes.
I dont think voting takes place until November although I could be wrong so yea I would say this will get factored in even if it is a regular season award. Stuff like the 2nd post season no hitter ever is hard to ignore.
