Have i been ripped off ?

hi, im a newbie here & to tablets in general, so please be gentle ;)

i recently bought a zenithink 10" tablet on ebay.co.uk, auction # 250697347239

the seller has a good feedback and delivery was fast (within a week).

on the other hand im a geek who likes to check everything out for myself, so i installed some hardware info apps via my mobile phone and ran them all.

to my disappointment i found all 4 programs gave a processor speed of 1ghz NOT 1.4 as he advertised, and not a hint of dual-core.

i have contacted the seller whom says he has spoken with some1 at zenithink and its correct - 1.4 dual core, and ALL current software wont detect it cause its so new. he wont discuss it further until i have proof of zenithink that hes wrong.

can any1 advise please ? was i ripped off ? a simple yes or no will do since i have already wasted a week reading stuff from all over the net which is only feeding my paranoia over this.

INFORMATION
since every1 seems to be asking, heres the few things i can tell you about this 10" tablet :

battery lasts about 2-4 hrs depending on whats being done.

does not play vid clips in all formats from out of the box, whether on

microsd, usb or internal hard disk. i had to get 3rd part software for even avi's.

while youtube is pre-installed it does not play clips saying needs to upgrade flash first. following links for this dont work.

android market IS NOT here - i had to download apps to my mobile, use appbackup software to backup apps to sd card then install onto tablet from there.

wireless is problematic at best - needs frequent off / on again of wifi in order to connect to a network it knows is there. range of 8ft through 1 partition wall caused low signal, while in same room as router gave a full signal.

ill post more info as i notice it. thanks in advance 4 replies

thanks folks, its nice to get straight answers. i didnt expect ebay to honor their part in this as hes a power seller - i got shafted before when some1 sold me a broken laptop - literally in 2 parts. ebay wanted me to pay full insured postage to return it - out of my own pocket. my refund would have been pennies after the 2 postages paid.

right, next thing - can any1 suggest ways of improving it - i cant even download android apps (last try was comics from applicious) from any site onto it, or play youtube vids.

id appreciate any help you can give.

You'll want to check out the zt180 forum over on slatedroid as we have a lot of useful threads about this specific tablet;

ZT-180

For Wifi you'll definitiely want to burn the latest 0929 firmware where they imporved the wifi code and fixed the autoreconnect... also video is better with this later version... Most of us bought these as 1GHz ARM11 zt-180's plus additional GC600 video GPU thus where I believe some seller come up with the 1.4 GHz dual-core... it's not a typical dual core like a tegra (A9) but does have 2 seperate 'core' processors...

Seeing as most folks have paid between $175 and $350 US delivered for these tabltes only you can decide if you got ripped off... they are low end of those that are coming out late this year but usimg the right apps they cn serve soem useful purposes... And though the manuf. may seem slow at improvements the improvements have been steady and mostly positive over the last couple months...

unfortunately slatedroid has an issue w/ there servers on a regular basis

i cant get in today or last night either. however xda-developers.org ALSO has a GREAT thread on the ZT180 as well!

its VERY long (40 - 50 pages) but I believe that if you start from page 1 and read to CURRENT you will have a tablet that will do everything that you SHOULD be able to expect from these devices.

Now I'm not saying itll be a netbook replacement, but I dont think the new Archos 101 would EITHER!
