I thought about buying the Epic via Amazon, but then how will they handle the return (if i did not like it) or the exchange (if my Epic was defective)?? I am sure that they will handle it, but it won't be as easy as going to the local store to exchange it. The wait may lead me to have no phone for an extended period of time. This was my thinking...and why i did not go down that route.

Just a heads up to others like me -- I bought my Epic 4G for $199.99 last week. When I read this note I emailed Amazon and they refunded $50. So, if you recently purchased the Epic from Amazon you should try this. They said this was an exception to standard policy, however. I'm a pretty regular Amazon customer, with Prime as well, so it's possible that helped. However, given their return policy it seems like they should be willing to refund if you purchased in the last 1-2 weeks.
Thanks for the heads-up on the deal, you earned me $50!
Are you pretty sure of this nchargreed?? So if I order through Amazon, and phone is defective or has some issues, can I walk into a Sprint store and have it replaced 2/3/4 times till I get a satisfactory model?? (of course return would be handled by Amazon in either case). If that is correct, I will be the happiest man tonight

I'm absolutely sure! Sprint handles ALL WARRANTY issues. Very seldomly have I purchased phones through sprint, most are purchased on Ebay, but Sprint handles manufacturer warranty issues.
What a deal for $150...guys who was on standby on getting the phone should be all over this deal. Ill be happy if best buys sells it for $199 within the next 3weeks so I could get some money back.
I also don't seen an option to port a phone number across, which sucks.
My contract with AT&T isn't due up until Nov 3rd. Wonder what the price drop will be like by then.
Does anyone know if Sprint will price match Amazon.com? I know one guy at our local store said they'd match Walmart (and we told him the prices were cheaper online at Walmart rather than in the actual store). I'm guessing it's because it's a physical store and not just an online store.
