Help 4 hours of use or 48 hours on standby?

Do those numbers seem normal to the rest of you?

Right now if I am using my phone for browsing, video, etc. it will run the battery from full charge to dead in just under 4 hours. If I just leave the phone turned on but with no apps running (standby) it runs out of power in roughly 48 hours.

Is this the battery life I should expect from this phone?

Have you done all the battery saving tricks?

I disable 3g, coverage is spotty at best around here
I also turn off Bluetooth, GPS, and use lowest brightness

Before I started rooting and flashing custom ROMS I was able to unplug at 5am and around 10pm I would be down around 20 percent and I would say I am an average user, alot of texting and emails, a few phones calls, facebooking and market time

Check all your widgets and apps, make sure you tweek the update intervals. You don't have to shut off background data but I'd advise you to turn off auto-sync. Turn screen brightness to 0, make sure bluetooth and gps are not on when you are not using them. I get about 8 to 10 hours of moderate to heavy use on these settings. If you are literally using your phone for 4 hours straight which seems odd to me, then yeah you're going to kill your battery pretty quickly.

You really have to tweak around with the settings to get the maximum of the battery hours. With texting ( about 200 a day ), and about 2 hours of phone call, Facebook, Internet romming, music play ( when driving in car from work, school, home ), I Have about 15~20% left by the end of the day.

I start my day @ 7 a.m., Usually come home with 15% of battery left @ 9 p.m.

For a review I am doing I did bat tests and here are the results.

solid gaming of 4 games. airplane mode on, wifi off so no radios are transmitting.
max back light - 2.3 hours
lowest backlight - 5.7 hours
auto backlight low ambient light 4.8 hours
auto backlight bright ambient light 3.1 hours

Like I said I took the radios out of the equation to see how it performs just as a gaming device. I believe that those numbers are pretty good considering that I played it stright through stopping only to switch games. two 3D games 1 2D and 1 still game(word search) the 3D games recieved 50% of the battery time 2D games 30% and 10% for the still game. I know those numbers do not add up but at 10% the phone would not let me launch some programs so I took it to 10% and marked my time there.

I am going to test the same thing this week, but with standard phone operation going on in the background to see what the difference it. I am very thourough in this and do not allow variations to skew results.

Watching TV shows on the phone in the mall while the wife is shopping can easily eat up four hours.

The part that really gets me is the fact that I can literally not touch the phone at all and after 48 hours of standby it will power off from low battery.

And that is with no wifi or GPS on, the screen off the whole time and after I used ATK to shut down all of the apps on the phone.

I mean 48 hours on standby really seems poor to me for a phone that advertises "up to 96 hours (4 days) of standby time".

honestly your standby time is awesome, 48 hrs? wow...my phone at night can go from full charge, and by morning be almost dead

4 hrs for heavy use sounds right. especially for browsing and video

this is just my opinion
