Root A Rooting Conundrum...

OK, I'm going to try and make this quick. Brevity is the soul of wit and common sense...but thoroughness and clarity are going to take precedence here. I purchased a Droid X, loaded the leak, but then SBFd and went to the stock OTA, hoping for a louder notification volume fix that had been promised with the official update. But OTA came, and the volume still sounds like dick. So, knowing that I'm pretty much stuck with what I've got, I'd rather return to the comfortable world of being rooted and deodexed that I enjoyed with my Droid 1.

Basically...what I'm looking for is a way to load a ROM that is similar in function to PeterAlfonso's Bugless Beast, yet still able to be themed with Fabolous and Manup's NexTheme...I think they are aesthetically superior in the theming side of things, and don't really want a ROM that is incompatible with it. With all of this in mind, I'm wondering if using the Droid2 Method to root and the 928droid Method to deodex and then laying NexTheme over top of it is the best COA for what I want. I ask help here not because I haven't done the research (because I've definitely read plenty before deciding to post), but because I'm hoping someone else has done the same process and might be able to offer some insight.

Lastly...I'm wondering if doing all of the above steps to achieve that end is the best solution for right now, or if I should wait. I know there's no SBF right now, but I'm pretty comfortable flashing ROMS thanks to the amazing Android dev community and their tireless efforts in explaining and re-explaining it to the point that all possible avenues have been gone down and there's nothing that they haven't seen yet. But due to the new developments with the efuse, I'm wondering if biding my time might not be the best for now. I honestly would prefer to take the Nestea plunge at the moment, but is anyone aware of the prognosis of the current situation...at least to the point of being able to honestly suggest that waiting and holding onto OTA stock is the best move for now?

Any and all input will be greatly appreciated and properly thanked.

on OTA 2.2, rooted with the droid2 method, manually deodexed, and running nextheme with stock fonts reapplied. have 0 problems right now.
I know of several people who have used the 928droid zip to deodex their phone and it has worked for them. I didnt go that route (1 because at the time that was not an option, 2 because manually doing it after doing the droid2 root really isnt all that hard and I generally like using adb to gain experience with it rather then just using bootstrapper, but thats just me and my .02) but several have had no problems with it.
