I have has Palms, BBs, and endless number of other smartphones. All but the Palm were in very nerdy holsters. I am an exec, so walking around like I used to back in the day is not a choice anymore.

My last phone, a BB, had a very nice leather holster that did not look like crap.

Has anyone seen a nice holster, that has a bit of class and style to it?

Keeping the phone in the pocket is not really an option, since I leave my jacket on the chair all the time. Stretching out pockets of dresspants is not my cup of tea (especially when Evo is BIG).

I'm no use on the holster advice because I don't use one...but I just can't help but to give a slight chuckle that sooo many threads are moved over in the general section that it is almost unusable, but this thread, which was obviously (and accidentally) posted in the wrong section, has not been moved.

Anyway, good luck finding a nice holster.

Well in my opinion a holster should be plain and low profile,,don't know how "classy" a holster can really be,but this seidio holster for the naked Evo looks clean to me.

this is the one i use, even works with my TPU case...

HTC HD2, EVO 4G Messenger Side Case with Belt Clip

In my personal experience, I've had that type - specifically on the HTC TP1 - & they tend to wear out & get soft/flimsy after some use.
The flap opens too easily after getting worn & lets the phone drop out 1 too many times.

The best leather style holsters - are the one's by Cellet with a swivel clip IMO.

Monaco brand
HTC EVO 4G Monaco Vertical Pouch Type Leather Case - Black

There are a few options on that page. I was tired of the cheap pouches/leather cases where the stitching was already coming out when you first got it, or the leather looked really crappy.

I'm really happy with this...I got the pouch style. The clip is too tight to attach to a belt, though. That might be a problem for you. But should clip to a pants pocket.

I use it to throw in my pocketbook/beach bag, etc. to keep it from getting dinged up so I didn't need the clip.

I use one of these:

Amazon.com: Nite Ize Universal Clip Case Cargo Magnet Medium (Black): Cell Phones & Service

Works great for my Evo with the Sedio Innocase II on it, and I don't think it looks "nerdy". It also has a pocket inside that works great for carrying an extra battery. This case has a magnet closure, but they also come in velcro closure if you prefer. Also these cases won't wear out like those cheap leather ones. I had the smaller version of this case that I used every day for about 2 years with my Pre and Centro and it was still in great shape. It also has a nice heavy duty belt clip that won't break or just fall off your belt or pants.

Was yours an htc brand case or a generic one? I had an alltel branded case just like this one thats lasted me 4 yrs with no soft/worn out ill effects. Only reason I had to retire it was cause the Evo was too large for it. This one also has the swivel clip which IMO is a must (much better than the sewn-on kind of the generics). The magnetic flap holds up really well, but ive seen some cheap knockoffs do exactly as you described.

I am using a Verizon Leather holster for the Motorola DROID A855. Its very slim... and a very tight fit. So far... so good. It will NOT fit with a TPU case. I use mine in my pocket. On my belt, it tends to hit things, like the seatbelt buckle or my door.

They sell it on ebay for $10.50. Search OEM Verizon Leather Droid A855
