Well I have to say ever since rooting and installing the xtrasense rom I love my eris.. its like a whole new phone.. I have noticed a few small bugs but nothing I cant live with.. One (maybe two) questions tho.. With the wired tether thats included in the rom.. how do you get that to work? With all the other wired tether apps there is a install you have to do on PC but I cant seem to figure out if this has one or where its at?? Tried the wireless tether with my laptop and although it sees the phone and tries to connect I get the error "another vendors application is controlling the (forgot the word it used but basically the phones access point)" Im thinking it may be something with my laptop tho and not the phone itself.. thanks for all the great help and advice guys!

You should close HTC Sync if it's opened, and kill adb.exe if it's opened (ctl + alt + delete, and look at Processes, and select adb.exe, and End Process).

Secondly, you need the right drivers. PDANet and others have software that try to make it 'easy'. Windows XP, it's tougher. Windows 7, you don't need to do much to get it to work. It should almost plug and play.

I'm uploading the Windows XP driver right here, if it lets me...

Plug in your phone, I BELIEVE you need USB Debugging ON (I could be exactly wrong here), and when you plug your phone in and turn on tethering, you'll need to point Windows do this driver to make the tethering work.

I use PDANet, so I won't be much help beyond this. I've gotten Wired Tether to work in Windows 7, but not XP yet. I hope someone else can help if you need more help than this.

Yup, that's on your laptop. You can set Windows to detect the wireless networks instead of the manufacturer's bloatware by opening up your network control panel, right-click your wireless adapter, click "properties" and there's an option in there to allow Windows to manage your wireless connection.

I can't stand those things. IBM and Dell seem like the worst offenders.
