Anyone else perturbed lately at how posts are classified then merged and moved? Might as well call the Evo 4g section the "Your post has been moved section".

Agreed. I understand the theory behind it but it kinda misses the mark sometimes.
I'm actually interested to see where this thread gets moved to....
I basicly quit using/reading these forums because there are rarely "newer" threads in here (they've all been moved).
It just makes browsing the forums very difficult. Like I said earlier, I understand the theory behind it, but like so many other threads posted... now that this has been moved it will not be seen by hardly anybody. Oh well, there are always other options.
I would appreciate if the moving/merging were just toned down a little bit. Nobody is trying to create unnecessary drama, but simply suggesting what we believe would improve the site - we're on the same team here.
I can't speak for the Evo forum, but this definitely applies to the Incredible forum. Just yesterday, I moved a ROOT question thread in the MAIN Incredible forum to the ROOT forum; a thread about CASES in the MAIN Incredible forum to the ACCESSORIES forum. So, either I'm completely off base for putting pertaining topics in their pertaining subforum where they can receive better help from those that are familiar with the situation or there needs to be some reevaluation done on the members part. It isn't like we are moving threads at random - were not moving a thread about a screen protector into the root subforum, and so forth. You do realize that there would be NO moved threads IF the MEMBERS actually used the subforums correctly. That would mean for people to stop purposely posting into the main forum to get more views in their thread and/or to actually take the time to read and acknowledge the subforums that were made. In addition, to try and not be lazy by just making a new thread when there is either: 1. already a discussion about it going on 2. already answered 3. already a thread that no one knows the answer yet a member feels compelled to make their own thread with the exact same problem instead of bumping an old thread. If all those things occurred, no one would complain about moving/merging threads because, well there wouldn't be any. But instead, this unfortunately has still yet to be accomplished and mods/guides are used as scapegoats.
And for those saying that finding an answer in a 3-4 page thread is easier than 1 big one. Imagine if you had 20 3-4 page threads. Do you REALLY want to go through that many threads to find your answer?
For the most part, people that complain about moving/merging threads are, ironically, ones that fall under the categories listed above. They are unable to follow simple rules and regulations, and become mad when these polices are enforced. People that do utilize the search function (yes, its going to take effort and time) and the subforums in the correct manner, are those that never have any problems and typically their threads never get merged/moved.
Edit: I don't think people are actually thinking this out (and instead, just trying to find blame), and either way, we as a staff are going to lose. Move threads - people complain that theres too much moving. Don't move threads - people complain that there isn't enough moving and the forum is too cluttered with repetitive stuff. We can't please everyone, so we take action as how we see fit would be best suited for the forum.
I do believe that all of us (as in the staff) try to use our best judgment when it comes to moving/merging threads.
(remember, all of the staff here still has our day job and personal lives too )
(Goes and looks for all the complaint threads to merge together)Oh come now... you actually expect us to believe that!? Day job maybe, but personal life? Bit of a stretch don't ya think?
Nah I'm just playin. Thanks woop.
Now... if you could just merge this thread with another complaint thread, lock it, then move the new super thread to a different section of the forum I think we can call it a day!
(sorry, couldn't help it. )
If you can tell me where my 'big bucks' that I'm getting paid for being a MOD in here, I'd give you a big fat e-kiss!!! Cause where these big bucks are, they aren't with meI don't doubt that for a minute. I don't, and I believe most others can agree, believe that threads are being merged/moved because you guys get paid the big bucks; I realize it is simply to help keep the forums clean and organized so they can be best utilized to find pertinent information. I think we all appreciate the effort.
You have to remember the ratio of staffs to members here (roughly 1:5000) and the quantity of threads that are produced on a minute by minute basis 24/7. The MODs and Guides try to patroll as much of Android Forum (you can imagine how big it is if you go to the other phone forums) and keep it clean and organize. As we can only do so much, *coughs* we do miss some threads now and then. As Woop said, if you see a thread that is in the wrong sub/forum, then use the report button and a MOD will look into itI also appreciate when threads are moved that obviously should be. However, I cant help but to laugh when a thread was posted in the "root" section of the evo forum and it was somebody asking about leather holsters and it has not been moved to "accessories" when there have been so many questionable moves made at the same time.

(runs looking for roze's 'big bucks')
