Help awful battery and hot phone after froyo update

After 2.2 update on Orange my phone is warm when running and battery lasts 6 hours. I have removed task killer and turned off all internet. But before got over a day.
So far I have been pleased with the phone and had it since June and this is the first problem.

Sounds like there may be an app running in the background...

What apps do you have?

Nothing really I have shut most things down other then things like HTC programmes with odd names, it says biggest use is android system

Try taking the battery out.
