Easy Answer - not in app store? button solution?

I recently purchased a Samsung Epic 4G and don't really love the answer screen - it's going to be cold soon and I don't want to have to take off my gloves to answer a call! I searched on here and found a few people suggesting Easy Answer - but even trying the scan codes I can't find it in the app store. Does anyone know if it was removed? Are there any other good alternatives?

I also noticed that Fandango isn't appearing in my app store right now, either, which just seems odd, too.

Thanks for any help!

I've used this as a workaround, so it might work for you as well. Try to locate the "fast web installer" from the market and install it on your phone. This allows you to install apps found on Appbrain's website DIRECTLY. If you can find the apps on their website, this should put them on your phone, regardless of whether or not you see them in the market. Now will they run once on your phone? No idea.

Thanks for the tip. I like the program! Sadly, it's not helping with my problem of not finding the apps. I can use the fast install to install other apps, but when I tried it with Easy Answer, Fandango, and I've since realized my SlingPlayer vanished, the phone said I downloaded it, but there was nothing to open. It's as if my google account somehow can't see those apps, appbrain goes to grab the programs from where they should be, but since there's nothing there, appbrain/fast install sends what it finds...nothing.

Frustrated...especially now that I can't see an app I paid $30 for and was working just fine over the weekend. Grrr...

Just a thought...have you tried clearing the Market cache? Doing so has been known to clear up problems for some.

Settings>Applications>Manage applications>Market. Then under Cache select Clear cache and see if that makes any difference.

yep, I did try that, to no avail. I'm starting to wonder if it may be specific to the Samsung Epic and the update Sprint just rolled out. I seem to recall some people having similar issues a few weeks ago when Sprint rolled out a different update? I didn't have my Epic at that point, though.

I did some more searching and tried everything I found in this thread:
http://androidforums.com/epic-4g-support-troubleshooting/180838-cant-download-anroid-apps-try.html
except that I didn't have "Google Apps" as listed in step 5-C

still didn't work...

Hmm...perhaps you're right for all I know. I have a Vibrant...and we haven't had any updates yet! :(

I do see Google Apps on my phone. Can't imagine why you're not seeing it.

Have you checked on xda for some idea?

I looked on xda and found a few threads you might want to read:

I'll check out those threads...thanks! I had someone else suggest using AppBrain's Fast Installer, but unfortunately it doesn't work around my problem. It seems the fast installer still has to look at the market as if it is my account and see the program there to send it to me. Since I can't see the programs, it can't either, so in essence it sends a blank file to my phone. :-/

Strange indeed. The only explanation I have left is that of what is spoken of in the xda thread. I'd keep checking every day...I expect it will show up in time.
