Some of us like to have top notch stuff. Sorry but when it comes to cases, you can't get any more top notch than OtterBox.

Just saying there are similar ones out there for less. However, this case is $29, not $19. It will be months before Otterbox comes out with one. They havent even decided if they will make one or not.

VegasTouch~ I see that's the new bodyglove case with the chrome on front. How do you like it? Does it come with a screen protector built onto it similar to previous iphone otterbox cases, or did you use a screen protector such as the invisible shield?

I dont have one. A poster was talking about himself having one and why he bought it. Says he got his because his buddy beat the crap out of his case and his phone was fine. Sounds like a good alternative to an Otterbox and cheaper but it just looks real bulky. Then so do the Otterboxes to me. But, id buy that one if i wanted some great protection but im just looking for a better grip with some protection.

I have the body glove on my vibrant I like it and I love the kickstand it comes with comes in good hand, but front chrom cover feels cheap and taking it apart for sd swaps or anything like it is a nightmare I found using a butter knife to detach it on the side where they have the little opening for detaching purposes haha, anywho I'd rather much have an otterbox just becuase they are so damn reliable

Seems to me that the vibrant doesn't need a case at all. It's pretty durable. Saw a youtube video of some guy doing all kind of durability tests. Pretty tuff device.

I'm a big fan of Otterbox cases. I had one on all 3 of my BlackBerry's and wouldn't hesitate to pay the cost for one for the Vibrant; I think it's well worth it, and I much prefer the "screen in" orientation of their cases.

Thing is, it appears they're in no hurry whatsoever to make one for the Vibrant. When I asked about a case shortly after I got my Vibrant in July I received a rather snide reply essentially saying "When we get around to it." They made one for the Captivate right away, but no love for us.

I think that between the otterbox company and AT&t company there is a good agreement since the iphone is for one carrier only and otterbox has the iphone in every case possibly made, anywho I got an email back last night after sending my request for information and a guy named John Steichen replied to me and I quote

"...At this point we do not have any information when that case will be released. I would say to keep an eye on our website, as it will have the most up to date information on any new releases that we may have. Sorry for any inconvenience.

So from what I try to understand underneath all the crap he just wrote me is that there is no case coming for this phone anytime soon from them.

Indeed, my response was remarkably similar. I didn't take kindly to it either.

I prefer the Seidio cases, as they're a bit more sleek, but Otterbox are great too. Anything's better than that ugly body glove one! (I had one, returned it. It's cheaply made).

Spoke to Otterbox a few days ago, they said they got news from the development branch that one is on its way but they don't have a solid date on when it can be expected.

Otterbox is working on a Commuter Series case, but most Vibrant owners would prefer a Defender Series case.

There are already other manufactures and resellers who are marketing something akin to the Commuter Series case.

Hello everyone,

I just recently got the Vibrant and I want to know what is the hype on the otter box cases. I have never heard of them but there seems to be a lot of anticipation around Otter Box coming out with a case.

I just got the Otterbox Commuter case for the Vibrant. It's a nice case, but EXPENSIVE considering it's just a gel case with a plastic cover to go over it and an included screen protector. I would say, at MOST, it's worth about $15. Definitely not the $32 I payed for it.

After having used the Otterbox Defender case with my Blackberry 8900 for the past 2 years, I was very impressed with it's quality and design. It was also rather expensive, but it saved my phone from "numerous" drops. To this day, when I take the Blackberry out of the case, it looks absolutely brand new.

I hope my Vibrant will hold up as well after 2 years in this less protective Commuter case. If it at least had a holster like the Defender series, I'd feel it might be worth $25. But without even that, and Otterbox saying they will not be proceeding with making a Defender case for the Vibrant, I would say don't bite on the Otterbox Commuter unless it hits the $15 price point (if ever).

Btw, the Otterbox Commuter is definitely nicer than the Seidio case alone (from what I can see in the videos). But the Seidio has that really nice HOLSTER. So, I'm wondering, will the Otterbox Commuter "fit" in the Seidio holster??? I'm tempted to buy just the Seidio holster to see if I can have the best of both worlds (even if the colors might not match).
