at home...
So as i'm sure many of you know (possibly by looking at my list of devices), I picked up my EPIC today. I sat in best buy for about 2 hours while they tried to figure out how to swap my number over to the Epic and the new number (added a line to save $$$) to the Moment. But they eventually got it all worked out.

This thing is amazingly fast. Normally when setting up my screen, it takes a while (atleast for the Moment) for the phone to go ahead and follow thru with my selection, but I was just amazed at how quick I was able to set everything up. Even the downloads seemed quicker when connected via my homes WiFi network (as compared to the Moment).

I did a short Video Call via Qik with my Brother in Michigan and was blown out of my mind. TECHNOLOGY IS AMAZING! Now all i'm waiting on is Sprint to go ahead and give us EVDO so I can enjoy the phone without the use of WiFi. I also plan on taking that 2 hour drive to Dallas soon to test out the 4G, although I have a feeling that once I experience the speeds, I wont want to leave.

I haven't tried the GPS yet and the battery seems to be doing good so far. But to all of you with 4G or even EVDO in your area, I envy you...

Thats all for now!

I'm just north of Dallas, and I get about 5MB down and 1MB up on 4G.

Yea, as soon as you cross the Texas state line (coming from Louisiana) you get EVDO coverage.... It really grinds my gears. I plan on making a 2 hour drive 2 Dallas to test out the 4G one of these days.

If it's anything like the Evo, the "bars" represent your 1xRTT connection. If you disable 3G, you should still be able to make calls, as long as you have enough reception.

The best way to know for sure is to check the coverage map on sprint.com. It'll tell you if you're in EVDO (3G coverage) or 1xRTT (Nationwide Sprint Network). My Epic says 3G and I get full bars at my house, but you can tell its not EVDO because data speeds are extremely slow. Theres been some buzz about us getting EVDO sometime this month. I've been waiting on it but I haven't seen a difference yet. Perhaps it was just another hoax. Oh well. :(
