Root Anyone else getting amazing battery life?

I'm running fresh 3.3 + king's CFS #10 kernel and am at over a day with about 70% battery left... The disclaimer is that I haven't used the phone much, but compared to other kernels that gave me a max of 20-26 hours on one charge, this is amazing. :D

Yup. That sounds about right for light to moderate use. I'm getting a hair over 1%/hour drain running routed stock + Set CPU and Juice defender. However, I can expect a 2-3% per hour drain when driving through weak/no signal areas.

I was getting 36-48 hours with moderate to heavy usage (EViO 1.3 with Netarchy #9) up until this week.

I've been installing so many apps and many are causing partial wake, plus I can't seem to put the damn thing down for even 20 minutes straight lately. Oh well, I have two 1500 MAh and two 1800 MAh batteries, It's cool.

36+ hours with "moderate to heavy" use is beyond anything I have seen from anyone. Can you tell us what your Up time to Awake time ratio is?

I can't say exactly, since I am no longer in that usage range. but My most accurate memory would indicate

Up: 41
Awake: 5.2

I also use SetCPU and keep a hold on my brightness.

I went one morning with 100% battery for 1.5 hours, including FB, Internet and one 15 minute phone call. Go figure.

Sorry to hear that. I also flashed the remove sense zip, so that may also effect it. Plus I removed all HTC widgets and progs + the default email apk. i run K9 with Push only. That's when I saw the biggest gain in battery life.

That's only about 13% awake time. Right now I'm sitting at 46 hours uptime with 29 hours awake time.

Franky, everyone I've seen that touts 24+ hours of battery is hardly using their phone. Whenever they post their battery use screen, Android System is way down the list. Cell standby and Phone idle are usually the top 2 items.

I've just accepted the fact that if I use this phone as intended (web surfing, game playing, video watching, etc) then I am going to get about 8-10 hours of battery life. That's why I keep a charger at home, in the car and at the office. If I know I am going to be away from a charger for longer than that, then I just scale back my usage. I may get a spare battery but I am hesitating because I don't carry any sort of bag and I won't carry a battery in my pocket.

As I said, that's my best guess. It's my personal and business phone, I do use it quite frequently. Android System is always my top item.

Really? I was thinking of getting an extra battery from Sprint cuz I have two 30% off accessories coupon so one would be an extra batter and a charger... I don't know much about ROM's and everything else so don't know what much else to do....

Yes really. I think that though I haven't seen the official, scientific demonstration of this, the majority of Evo users are in agreement that the phone simply sucks at charging it's own battery.

As I mentioned, my battery has gone nearly two hours while staying at 100%. You know this is not the normal occurrence. Get a spare charger and battery, you will be happy with the money you spend. I got two spare batteries and charger for $20 on eBay and they are working great.

Not to mention, 46/29, what the only time your screen is off is while you're sleeping? That's hard to believe, I think you may have some misbehaving apps sir.

Well I have my Pandora set to keep the display on while playing and I get a fair bit of downtime at work so I am on Tweetcaster or getting in a quick Fruit Ninja or Angry Birds session. I listen to podcasts while driving and I am constantly changing home screen setups or switching ROMs. My phone stays pretty active.

I just bought 2 batteries and a charger for $9.68 with free shipping on eBay. I'll give that a try and see what happens.

I guess I spoke too soon or jinxed myself... Last week I was getting 2+ days on one charge and now it's back to approx. 20 hours again... The only thing I did was download Tango, which seemed to stay on all the time so I uninstalled it. However, I cannot get the battery life back to where it was. Does anyone know of an app or a technique to identify the culprit? TIA

"Spare parts " in market. Then open, battery history, change drop down to partial wake usage, second drop down to total since boot, then whatever is in the top is keeping phone awake.

Yes tango is horrible on battery.

Spare parts will show what's eating up your battery if you wanna keep track of ur usage-battery rate then download System Panel.
