Scratched Keyboard

I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but my keyboard is getting scratched when I slide out the keyboard. I can't really hear it happening, but right down the keyboard (the 6, Y, H, B, and Space keys and also the 4, R, F, C, and comma keys) there is a definite line that is scratched into each key straight down to the edge of the keyboard and even on the chrome edging. I can even feel the scratch on the keys. Anyone else having this problem? I don't have a case or anything on the phone yet and only have had it for a couple of weeks now. I'm afraid if it is this bad already what it may look like in a few months...

I had that problem and it was bad I evn bought it on craigslist and had it over 30 days and they still got me a brand new one and it does not scratch

Ok, I think I might trade it in. It bugs me, especially since I can see it and even feel the scratches. I should have no problem getting them to trade it in for a new one?

You may have gotten some sand or grit in the keyboard area that caused the scratching.

That's what I thought too, but I've checked and don't see anything. It does sound kind of rough when I slide the keyboard in and out. I just called the Sprint Store and he said they've had that problem before and that he'd take care of me. I think that means they'll swap it out. Problem is, my phone is working great other than that. Now I'm worried that if I swap it out, I'll get a dud that I keep hearing about in these forums. Maybe my GPS will work better though? Who knows? Right now it only works once in a while, at that is usually when I'm at home...

How did they let you do 5 exchanges? I'm just out of my 30 days and it's like pulling teeth to get them to replace this thing even though the phone is literally scratching itself each time I open it. I finally called customer service after going to two stores (the second store was a "service center" which the first store told me to go to) and they put a note on my account telling the store I bought the phone from to replace it with a new one. I called the store I bought it from and they told me to wait until Monday until their manager was in and that he would "most likely" exchange it. The guy at customer service said that if they refuse, to call customer service again and they would take care of it.

True, the scratches are just a cosmetic issue nothing more.

That's basically what the Sprint store said. They said that this is a cosmetic issue and they can't do anything about it. I called Sprint and they said to take it back to where I bought it from because it's within my 30 days. The only thing is I bought a brand new in box never been activated before Epic from Ebay. Does this mean i'm out of luck?

Pretty much because in order to return it for a new one within the first 30 days it has to go back to the original selling agent. I think they might exchange it with a refurb for you after the first 30 days of activation MAYBE. Do you have Sprint insurance?
