A little background info on me... I came from the HTC EVO to the Samsung Fascinate and then exchanged the SF for the Droid X.... I exchanged the SF for the DX mainly because I became so accustomed to the 4.3 screen on the EVO the SF screen seamed small to me..
On a scale of 1-10 (10 best)
Screen
EVO =5
SF = 9
DX= 8
The SF has eye pooping colors and is gorgeous... I know this is a matter of personal taste, but the SF just jumps right at you....
Speed
EVO = 7
SF = 9
DX = 8.5
The DX is fast but I do have some lag with the unlock swipe and when adding widgets or shortcuts... Other than that the DX is plenty fast..
Stock OS
EVO (HTC Sense) = 8
SF (TouchWiz) = 8
DX (Moto ???) = 9
At 1st I did not like Moto (whatever they are calling it since they claim it's not Blur) but it has grown on me.. Besides, I generally use Launcher Pro so that eliminates the stock OS's for the most part...
Device Ergonomics
EVO = 9
SF = 8
DX = 10
At 1st I did not like the hard buttons on the DX but they have grown on me... I now prefer them as I can feel the action as opposed to the soft buttons on the EVO and the SF... I became accustomed to the 4.3" screen on the EVO and the SF just felt small to me...
Phone Quality
EVO = 8
SF = 8
DX = 10
WOW... The DX is crystal clear!!! Enough said...
Battery Life
EVO = 4
SF = 8
DX = 9.5
Battery life on my EVO was horrid.... I could never make it an entire day.... The SF would make it a day, but it would be close... So far, the DX is doing nicely...
Overall Impressions
EVO = 7.5
SF = 9
DX = 9
I rate the EVO lower because of the battery life issues, the bland looking screen... Phone quality was not the best either....
I tie the SF and the DX because they are both awesome devices that will appeal to different people for different reasons... If I was not accustom to the 4.3" screen on the EVO I think I would have stayed with the SF... I just could not get use to it's smaller screen and therefor went with the DX..
Many complain about the lack of notification LED on the SF but that is easily solved with NoLed so it's a non issue....
Overall I am very, very happy with where I landed... The DX is everything I need and want in a device... It flat out blows the HTC EVO away... It's not even close... The SF is also an awesome device and when deciding which one to get, it will all come down to user preference...
The SF also trumps the EVO IMHO in every way except for screen size...
