... I don't intend to get a vote for the best keyboard in the world...

Have you guys tried slideIT? It's the best sliding keyboard out right now...

make up your mind... ;)

seems if you want to actually do a poll with some substance, perhaps you should add the other option... #imjustsaying...

I like that most of you are answering as if this poll isn't balanced simply because it doesn't have shapewriter.

In all of my perusing over time I have repeatedly heard the masses criticizing Shapewriter. Everyone always wants Swype, and that's fine. But I found SlideIT for the first time two days ago and personally I think the UI, options, shortcuts and many more items blow Swype out of the water. Shapewriter isn't even a memory compared to these.

So we could add Shapewriter, but then should we add the other four slider keyboards also available on the internet? then it becomes a poll about all keyboards, and as mentioned I really only wanted to compare the big guns. Swype is the most widely known at this point, SlideIT has the tweaks, thought and development to become the big boy. Blah.

Have you guys tried slideIT? It's the best sliding keyboard out right now, IMO. How recently did you try it?

I have tried all 3, and found swype to be the most accurate, then ShapeWriter, and far in last place slideIT. Swype on average requires 0 corrections, shapewriter 1-2, and slideIT 4+. Also I find the speech to text largely inaccurate as well, so that option on slideIT doesn't do anything for me.

I guess I could spend a little more time with slideIT and get to know it a little better.

I tried slide it but the demo does expire and you have to pay $8.99 at the end if you want it. Shapewriter, although I heard goo things about it, is not on the market. Swype we're not supposed to have because the developers never intended it for the evo market.
Are you sure that's true? I'm using Slide it and so far no expiration.

Out of all three I use Slide It the most because it seems to be the most accurate.

Swype is accurate after that, and shapewriter is last.

speech to text is governed by Google, so it's your VOICE not the keyboard...

9 bucks for a keyboard app? Does it bring me drinks and stroke my taint region?

Ok so after all this talk about slideit I downloaded the free version to check it out. I'll use it tonight and give my honest opinion tomorrow.

So I have to admit, after down loading it yesterday,I really like it! Works very smooth with very few errors. I'll need to use out for a few more days before I decide to buy it but it looks very good so far.
