Is there any way to put a shortcut on your homescreen that would open Google Nav with directions to that point?

IE putting an icon on the home screen that says "Home", tap on it, and Google Nav opens up with directions to your home that you've previously programed.

Using Fascinate if it matters

Long press homescreen -> Shortcuts -> Directions & Navigation ->

Fill in your address, type of navigation (car, walking, public transit), shortcut name, and choose an icon.

Does exactly what you are looking for. :D

Very nice!

Does Google Navigation have a way to store destinations, other than having to re-enter the destination each time?

I star the destinations, which you can do from your phone or computer and it syncs. Then on the navigate to menu choose starred places. Everywhere else I would need to navigate to frequently is in my contacts which is another option in the navigate to menu
