Help What are -rw files

DCIM is the where the camera saves the pictures you take. The files you're talking about are actually RAW files (-rw is *nix file permissions :rolleyes:). RAW is a camera image format.

Based on a bit of experimenting it seems they're the thumbnails for the Gallery app. I deleted them all, took a picture & nothing appeared. However when I opened gallery they were all back (one for every picture in Gallery, not just photos).

If you delete them, they'll just reappear next time you open Gallery so no point really.

hi im new to android but im woundering if anyone has found a way to stop images from apearing in dcim folder in sd card when ever i view them
