Stick with the Hero. It is a MUCH BETTER phone than the Intercept. I have an Intercept, only because it is the only Android usable on Virgin Mobile. Sprint wants $70++ for roughly the same service I get from Virgin Mobile for $26.25 per month, and that is including taxes, etc. The Virgin Mobile plan gives me 300 minutes along with unlimited text, web and email.
I just sold my Sprint HTC Hero on eBay and got enough to pay for 5 months of service on Virgin Mobile. I liked the Hero more, but not $50/month more.
I was able to purchase the Virgin Mobile's Samsung Intercept at our local Target store for $249 and got a $20 Gift Card back. I see them going on eBay for around $300, which is a rip-off.
