Root Fresh 3.3.0.1 amazing battery life

I installed this a few days ago. Runs fast, the battery was initially normal (meaning terrible), but after a few days of normal use the battery life is amazing. Still drops to 80% within an hour or so of coming off charger, then it just hangs on in the 60-80% range for hours and hours under semi-heavy use.

The ROM is only part of the equation. If you can root your phone and flash the Fresh 3.3.0.1. ROM, taking it to the next level (if you haven't already) is a snap.

Consider Titanium Back-up, Juice Defender and SetCPU as your "Must-have" applications. A custom kernel like Netarchy 4.1.9.1. CFS Fresh Compatible will unlock the full potential of SetCPU, letting you under and over-clock your C.P.U.

Totally agree. Love Fresh ROM, and getting fabulous battery life with 3.3.0.1. Well worth donating to the ROM developer.

I'm really liking the fresh rom also. Dont use setcpu but still love the battery life im getting with the kernal that came with the rom. I have tweaked the phone as much as I could with settings and im happy with it

I'm using the Fresh & Netarchy combo as described above. With Bluetooth on 100%, and 4G, Mobile data, Background data & syncing all off (essentially airplane mode able to receive calls), I see a steady .6% drop per hour. The phone is underclocked to 128 min. 245 max."on demand" in screen-off SetCPU profile. I have yet to see an initial nose-dive of 20% -30% battery capacity followed by a leveling off. My juice plotter graph shows the dips from calls but remains very steady.

So how do you like that theme havent changed it yet from stock with Fresh 3.3 I think I may give that a go was it easy to Load

The only thing is that I'm in an area where I get full signal but my speed test are reflecting other wise (im only pushing 500kb on average down and some how getting 600kb up on average) I'm thinking of changing my radio... did anyone else try out a new radio and experienced better speeds? In my area I should be getting 1.6mb on average but its just atrocious what I'm getting now. My old Hero always got a great signal here

I have been thinking of the same thing. There are claims that the network is simply overloaded tho.

If you call Sprint, explain that your download speeds are unacceptable, Sprint will reluctantly issue a Network trouble ticket, to which "Engineers" will respond within 72 hours, run a connectivity test, and declare "All is well." At that point, Sprint will close the Trouble ticket and move on to the next one. If you are using Clear's network, call them and ask at what capacity their towers are running. It has been my experience that Clear will give an honest and candid answer.

That's a good question. Apparently I didn't read your post well enough. My bad. I guess you have nothing to lose in updating your radio. I just updated mine to the "Latest & Greatest" and see no difference. In the Baltimore market (using Sprint-branded Clear Network) in late morning and early afternoon, I get speeds of 5-6+ mbps tethered. 6:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M., I get half of that. After mid-night, it's back up to speed, unless it's during the one week per month when Clear does maintenance from mid-night to 4:00 A.M., during which time 2.0 mbps is about average. Pinning down the problem is like playing pin the tail on the donkey.

I love the theme. It is ideal IMO. However, recently it glitched, and now a couple of the menu selection graphics have goner back to looking like the default. Not a big deal though, the only noticeable change was the 'download' graphic under the menu options of the market.

Anyways, everything else looks great, and it is easy to load.

OK, so with all that said, can anyone point me in the direction of some good radios to try out. Also is flashing a radio hard? is it just like flashing a ROM?

i have been stalking threads about battery life for about a week now but haven't posted anything yet but this one is semi fresh so i think i'll come out of the shadows here...

just got my evo a couple weeks ago. last week i rooted with unrevoked and installed setcpu. battery life was good with profiles underclocking while the screen was off and when the battery got below certain levels.

a few days ago i flashed fresh 3.3.0.1 because of what people say about the battery life. it wasn't so great. i then flashed netarchy 4.1.8 cfs (i read that setcpu works better than HAVS in 4.1.9, though i'm still not quite sure what HAVS is). the battery drain was insane. tried warm twopointtwo, battery life still bad. now i'm back to fresh 3.3.0.1 with the stock kernel but the drain is still pretty bad, even with setcpu.

am i missing something? should i be wiping battery stats when i flash a new rom? does it take a few days to figure itself out and i'm not giving it enough time? i read that people get good battery life with fresh but i'll drop a couple percentage points just reading and responding to a text sometimes.
