So after my 5th eris took a dump yesterday, verizon is giving me a free upgrade!!! Courtesy and talking politely with a manager goes quite a long way. Now the question of the day is, which phone should I get?

1. Droid X?

2. Droid 2?

3. Incredible?

Thoughts people?

All are good phones. I wouldn't say that one is much better than another. It really comes down to what you like.
The Dinc is good, but maybe you wnat to get away from HTC after your bad experince?
I really like my D2.

so the Droid X is what i will be receiving monday. Thanks for your input.

If you don't need a physical keyboard, and if you like a big screen and a fast phone, you won't be disappointed with the Droid X.

Mine's been rock-solid since the July 15th launch day and I'm very happy with it. You should be aware that you can root it, but its unlikely we will ever be able to install custom ROMs since the bootloader is pretty well locked-down. But, you would be able to root to get root-only apps and underclock it if you want (saves a little battery, but I'm happy with the ability to set custom battery profiles, so I haven't gone the underclocking route). There's other stuff too, but I'm pretty happy with what I can do now and int he future with my X.

Cheers!

P.S. My best Quadrant score is 1517 and a Linpack score of 14.407  [its a snappy little phone :D]

This. The screen on that phone makes every other smart phone screen I have seen (well, besides the X10 and IP4) look like something made in the 1940s.

Well having owned an xperia x10, i wouldn't quite but it with the ip4 or galaxy s phones based on screen quality as it is a bit bland :)

But Def the Fascinate...

I like it even with bing...i just wished i had waited for awhile before i left verizon with at & t

Now i am stuck with a craptivate that i don't like haha

Yeah a new phone for every month bahaha :)

I actually like At & t
they are just lacking right now in great phones for Android

but since i plan to get on Windows 7 bandwagon, it looks like they
are going to have some great devices....

Wow, right up until you said that I've always thought you were a clever young lady. :)

But that's just me, I tend to be anti-Microsoft whenever possible. I admit that they make some good (and some not-so-good) products. But I try to do my bit to prevent them from entirely taking over the world.

has nothing to do with MS for me. Like Rubin said, the world doesn't need another platform. I can't think of a single thing that android, iOS or RIM doesn't already do on their phones that I want to buy a new, unsupported, app-sparse phone for.

I too have given up on the Eris. I have to admit the Eris was a good phone and never gave me a fit. It was just slow and outdated and I had an opportunity to upgrade and went with the Samsung Fascinate. I am happy with my choice and the phone so far is incredible (not htc .. haha). So good luck with whatever you choose. I think you can't go wrong with either the DX or SF.

He'd be waiting for ever and the OP wants Android. You are on an android forum ya know? (Lame-o)

Actually no he wont. Verizon released a statement that they will be bringing apple products on board. They did not state what products or a time frame but really its a wireless phone provider so your choice, iPhone or Ipad or variants of either.

As for a phone... Droid 2 seems to be the statistically the least returned or complained about phone according to surveys.

Well i liked the concept of the kin phones
that i owned till i realize the hardware sucked ass

the HD 7 looks to be a great device but i'd never lower my standards and go to t-mobile for the phone

i like the htc surround

to be honest, Android just isn't there for me...

While i was with verizon and had an eris and the droid, droid inc and x
that was pretty much the only choice i have

I like at & t because i have the option of the iphone 4 which i had briefly
, android, blackberry 6, and now windows 7

If i was on verizon, i'd probably be sticking with the droids(yeah i'll through the fascinate in there) but the droids and verizon are basically the same as the iphones and at &t(before 2010)

not much decent choices....
