I've noticed on my phone sometimes my dbm would be -83 and I would only have 1 bar and other times it would have 3-4 bars at -83dbm. Sometimes I would only be getting -96 yet the bars would be full (all instances I was in 3G mode) do the bars take into account anything else besides dbm?

I think the refresh rate just isn't always fast enough. But if you want, get Real Signal.

Real Signal - Android app on AppBrain

And then set the bars to the dBm measurements that you want.

I don't think its a refresh rate issue, unless it takes an 5mins to refresh. My phone has been at -86 with 3 bars, been that way for the past few minutes. Before that I was at -81 with 1 bar. I cycled my 3g radio off and on with airplane mode that's when it came back with a -86 / 4bars vs -81/1bar

thank you, I"m going to try this.

How is this working out for you?

I was just going to post and then found this thread. I've only noticed problems with this since I started messing around with ROM's and themes.

Sometimes I will have -67dbm and two bars, other times I can have -75 (or higher) and have full bars. Still at other times, I can be within the above mentioned ranges and the signal bars are all full.

Will this app address this? Should I flash the sbf file and hope for the best? I know its not a huge deal, but something I've noticed over the past few weeks. Guess it annoys me a lil bit.

Thoughts and advice welcome.

Cheers!
