Root Baked snack 1.8 through ROM manager

I have not installed Fresh yet. I do like BS. I'm going to give Fresh a go in a few days...

There are several threads on the forum that discus the two ROMs. It really seems to be a subjective opinion. From what I've read, you won't go wrong with either.

So far it's the same to me. The interface looks a bit different but that's all really.

Honestly, my phone seemed faster and snappier when I was able to use Launcher Pro instead of sense on an older Fresh.

Is there someway to get this back? Is there a kernel to make Baked Snacks have higher FPS?

I'm also trying to download FPS2D and it's stuck on "starting download."

Not liking this at all so far... I must be missing something.

I'm pretty new to this. This is my first foray into rooting and just did it a week ago. I don't have the answers to those questions. Sorry.

1-Yes.Download PP and set it as your default Launcher.

2-BS comes with Kernel#6 which will take care of the FPS cap.

Every phone is different and I find BS to run better than Fresh on my phone.Phone feels a lot faster and performs better in every single way.

Be advice YMMV.

ROM Manager did wipe the phone. Wallpaper and launcher will change. BS 1.8 comes with Baked Kernel #6. I didn't flash another kernel.

Okk so all I need to do is open up ROM Manager and download baked snack 1.8 then go to install ROM from SD card and thats that?

I have everything backed up with titanium backup pro and once all that is done just click the apps I want back??

After you tap "Install ROM from SD Card" you will have to scroll to the actual ROM zip and select it. I think it's called BakedSnack1.8.evo.zip.

I can't remember the steps after that but just follow the instructions. I would recommend doing the cache and data wipes. It's a little more trouble reinstalling your apps but it's worth it to minimize other issues.

I'm not going to guarantee that your backup will restore everything because I don't know which backup you did in Titanium. If you did the "Backup all user apps + system data" batch then you should be ok when you restore. You will have to redownload the Titanium Backup app from the market before you can restore. Once you download the app, make sure to update the BusyBox again and then do your restore. I've flashed several ROMs and about the only thing that doesn't come back when I restore is my SMS messages but I don't care about those anyway.

Your contact pictures should sync back correctly once you sign back into your Google account.

From within the app go to the Backup/Restore tab. Tap Menu > Batch. You should see several options. Tap "Run" next to "Backup all user apps + system data"

When you finish flashing your ROM and signing back into your Google account download and reinstall Titanium Backup. Update the BusyBox (click "Problems?) on the Overview tab.

Go back to the Batch screen and tap "Run" next to "Restore all apps with data"

Once that finishes you should have just about everything back to normal.

How would i know if i have the latest version of Bake Snack?

Go to BakedSnackShack.com

The latest version is 1.8.

Ignore the radio versions on that page as they are not up to date...at least the radio isn't. Not sure about the WiMax. You can get the latest radios here: [ Radios ] All EVO Radio, WiMAX, PRI & NV versions - xda-developers

***EDIT*** After looking at your question again, I realized you may already have Baked Snack and want to check the version number. Go to Menu>Settings>About Phone>Software Information and you should see your Baked Snack version under "Build Number"

anyone run Kingxklick kernal #11 on B.S. 1.7? I am not feeling like flashing to a new rom (e.g. 1.8) but thought a new kernel might help battery life, any experiences appreciated

I been running Kings#6 for a while now and my battery life is been good so far, althought I don't keep an eye on my batt3ry as used to since I have a 3500Mah battery.
