I did not make the Tuxy image above just added my logo :)

Summary:
More is not always better. My goal is to slim this Rom down as much as possible focus on performance and keep it lookin pretty . Overall performance is directly impacted by the removal of bloatware, zipaligned apk's and overclocked underolted kernel. This is how I like my rom it may not necessarily be how everyone likes it but the beauty of Android is options. By removing the bloatware adding custom apps and baking the theme right into the Rom I think you'll find that it saves a lot of steps and time.

If there was any one release I would want you to download it would be Redemption Rom 2.0. Trust me it's worth wiping and starting from square one it's by far the most complete release focussed on performance and the most aesthetically pleasing Sense Rom I've seen to date (I know I say this every time lol). Main Theme credit goes to manup456, ghostrida, SoCalMiles and deficitism

Disclaimer:

As with any Rom or Mod flash you are taking matters into your own hands I will not be held responsible for any bricked devices or be held responsible for the injuries you may inflict on others if this were to happen.

Summary: Version 2.0.5

This is an incremental update which brings some changes "under the hood" as well as a few tweaks and additions, what you'll see in this update:
  • Introcution of new "Flashover Update" which does not require wiping previous version 2.0.4
  • Re-written installer script which addresses two issues:
    A. Rom Administration: Optional Flashable content now pushed to SD Card during install so multiple downloads are not required.
    B. Proper wiping of Cache, Boot-Cache and Dalvik-Cache to ensure problems do not carry over from one release to the next or from one Rom to the next
  • Introduction of custom gscript app which utilizes one click linux shell scripts within Android
  • "Fix Permissions" capability added which can be executed 3 ways:
    A. One click gscript (provided in "gscript" folder on SD Card directions on how to load script in change log)
    B. Terminal Emulator by typing su (enter) fix_permissions
    C. Recovery using terminal/command prompt (must be "cd" into the /system/bin directory to execute command
  • Baked in custom RR bootanimation (Thanks Dan!)

FYI: Fixing Permissions
A few things to note when fixing permissions either by the one click gscript or by using terminal emulator.
  • A reboot should be completed after fixing permissions
  • Facebook contact pictures will most likely be removed after fixing permissions Fix: go into accounts and sync remove your Facebook account then add it again re-sync Facebook a few times and viola all your contact pictures are back.

Donations:
There's has been a few people that have asked me about donations so I added the link in my signature. The Redemption Rom from it's inception has been my personal endeavor to get the most ascetically pleasing, stable and fast Rom possible for my day to day use. I was so pleased with the outcome that I wanted to share it with the community. I did not create all this content. I've pieced together some of the best additions to the Android community as well as provided my own content. On the one hand this project is a hobby and I find it very enjoyable but it does take A LOT of time to do everything you see here. If you feel that my work warrants a donation by all means feel free it will help keep me caffeinated on those all nighters but by no means are you obligated in any way. At the end of the day I find satisfaction in the feedback from all of you that enjoy my work, so thank you for using my Rom!

edit: nevermind, I figured it out and playing with it now.

can someone direct a noob to directions (step by step) of how to flash a rom onto my incredible. I'm rooted and have installed roms directly from rom manager that are already on rom manager. How do I get this one into rom manager so that I can download it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running virtuous 3.0.1 and just want to try something different and this rom has gotten some rave reviews.
thanks in advance.

you can't put ROMS "into" Rom Manager. you can however use Rom Manager to install a ROM. Here are two ways to install a ROM that has not been added to Rom Manager's "Download" list:

USING ROM MANAGER:
1. Navigate to website on phones browser, and click on the download link for the ROM. (should be a .zip file) OR download it on your comp, and transfer the file to your SD Card.
2. Open Rom Manager
3. Select "Backup Current Rom"
4. Name backup (I recommend including which ROM you're currently using, as well as a date. for example, for a cyanogen mod ROM backup I would name it cm09302010 for CyanogenMod september 30th 2010)
5. After phone has made backup and rebooted, re-open Rom Manager.
6. Select "Install ROM from SD Card"
7. Find and select the .zip file you just downloaded.
8. Select the "Wipe data and cache" box
9. Click OK.
10. Wait.
11. Wait some more (first boot after installing a ROM takes a long time)
12. Enjoy

WITHOUT USING ROM MANAGER:
1. Navigate to website on phones browser, and click on the download link for the ROM. (should be a .zip file) OR download it on your comp, and transfer the file to your SD Card.
2. Boot into recovery with one of the following methods:
a. Open Rom manager, select reboot into recovery
b. Turn phone off. Hold Volume down, hold Power. When bootloader appears, use the volume button to select "Recovery". Press Power button to select. (once in recovery, your trackball becomes your "select" button. The power button is now the "back" button)
3. Select Wipe data/factory reset.
4. Select Advanced
5. Select Wipe Dalvik Cache
6. Select Install zip from sdcard
7. Locate and select .zip file
8. wait.
9. wait some more.
10 enjoy

lists look long but it's really a simple process. Hopefully I laid it out clearly enough.

Lou; thanks for this ROM. Just installed it last night. Give me a week to play around with it so I can give you better input, but I do have a couple thoughts/questions from last nights install.

- Love the new boot sequence. I know this is a minor thing, but anything away from norm is always fun.

- Smooth Calendar changed on me. The calendar has gone to a black and white color and I can't get the "date" section to go back into color. Not sure if this is a bug, or how you specifically worked Smooth Calendar for the ROM but just a thought.

- No bugs noticed; but again I've only had it on the phone for a day

- Like the modified Sense unlock bar, very cool!

- Do you plan on integrating HTC's new Sense release on future releases of the ROM?

- Do you plan on integrating the new fast boot?

- Has anybody tried any kernels with this ROM and have any recomendations on what works best with it?

*Edit* - Any plans on baking in Car Home in future versions?

All in all though I'm liking what I'm seeing. I'll run Quadrant and Linpack tonight and get you my scores and try and get an average battery life over the next week so you have some good input from a user perspective.

Thanks again for putting this out!

I'm just a tad confused. There is Redemption 2.0.5 and Redemptive 1.6. What is the difference.

Redemptive 1.6 (well add the word R-EVO-lution to that actually for the full name) is a sense ROM based off Froyo with an EVO-4G framework and theme.

The animations on 1.6 are unique and I've never seen anything like them. Have you read the OP's at xda they explain everything here and here.

If you haven't tried 1.6 it's a definite must see :)

I'm just a tad confused. There is Redemption 2.0.5 and Redemptive 1.6. What is the difference.

My understanding is that Redemptive is an EVO to INC port over project so that EVO-Sense themes can be applied. That's why it comes with the reEVOlution them as a "sister download." Sort of like FrankenROM but with more/different stuff done.

Also, since the EVO has had more Froyo updates than the Incredible, there is some attempt being made for the root/rom community to bring "newer editions" of Froyo from the EVO over to the INCredible.

Those who know more, feel free to embellish and/or correct me on this. I know that I am really enjoying the Redemptive Revolution Rom 1.6 ROM alot. Love it, love it, love it.

P.S. And yes, what jbdan said too. (I must have started writing this just as he posted his)

Thanks guys. I totally read both those XDA threads, although not all the pages. I loved the Rev theme on Virtuous so I wanted to play around a bit. It's Saturday after all. Have my solid Uncommon backed up, KK #5 sitting on the card, ready to roll. What the heck?

Edit: Trying it again today. The animations are very cool, put on KK #5 too.

So, I've now been using Redemption for about a week now, I must admit I LOVE THIS ROM!!!
- Battery life is superb. On an average weekday when I'm at work and on moderate use I'm finishing the day anywhere between 30-40% battery left. I am EXTREMELY surprised at how well this ROM handles being off 3G or off network as a whole. Battery life barely took a hit. I had my phone in these conditions twice this weekend and I was just shocked. Normally you could sit and watch the battery life drop as the phone looks for a network to connect to. I can only imagine how battery life will improve by coupling this with BFS #5.
- Very fast. My quadrant scores are averaging from the high 1200's to low 1300's. Linpack's are averaging between 33 and 35.
- I have had no force close's, no issues with any App's so far. This ROM is super stable.
Lou, I'd just like to say great job on this. UI is stunning, the ROM is fast, battery efficient and stable on its own. Like I said I can only imagine how this will be coupling with a great kernel. I very much look forward to the planned update you have coming when you're able to get around to it. Consider me a Redemption user from here on out.

Lou did recommend Hydra kernel so I flashed #3 last night. I was using KK #5 but decided to give this a try. So far so good. Setcpu max (I think 1113) and screen off.

As for the UI, I totally agree. It looks great, the animations are crisp and responsiveness very quick. I'm not going to tweak this any more until 1.7 is released in a couple of days. It's a full wipe so I'll finish it after the flash.

Waiting for 1.7? So you're running the Redemptive rEVOlution ROM and not Redemption?

Also, Lou made the comment on xda to be expecting a Redemption update soon.

I flashed this onto my rooted dinc, and it after it loads up and the scroll down unlock thing pops up, i slide it down and then a white screen pops up with the htc logo. Then it turns black with the time and 3g symbol and stuff up top but nothing happens. whats going on?

**Edit, i downloaded the full ROM, did i just need to download the "flashover ROM". This is my first time using redemption.

***Edit, after several attempts of just messing around with rebooting it, it finally worked.

I'm running redemptionROM 2.0.5. How do i know if i made nandroid backup? I backed up through ROMmanager and i was able to go into recovery and flash an old backup earlier today, but after downloading redemptionROM my phone loads everything up but freezes once i'm able to slid the unlock down and click on an app. When i go into clockwork recovery and go into restore it says there are no files. Now redemptionROM works perfectly when i don't have my SD card in there. Which isn't a big deal because i can still load my contacts, but i guess i'll have to redownload all my apps which sucks.

Yes, that's correct. I took dscribe's advice and flashed that one.

I thought I read somewhere that there would be no more updates to Redemption.

Lou was posting in the Redemption thread on XDA last Friday that an update would be coming over this previous weekend; apparently things caught up with him but he still plans on pushing one out.
