Root Evo Radio / Wimax / PRI / NV

Can someone explain this thread: [ Radios ] All EVO Radio, WiMAX, PRI & NV versions - xda-developers

It has the Radio / Wimax / PRI / NV

I understand in concept that the radio is the 3G cellular antenna, and Wimax is 4G, and that you could have various versions that may differ in different ROMs, correct?

What is PRI?

And what is NV? Who do these things do?

They keep ur phone up to date, lol.

They help to improve your signal reception, some people including myself have experienced faster download-upload speeds.

By the way PRI means Primary Rate Interface Google it for more info,NV I can't remember.

Lot's of wrong information in previous posts.

PRI is NOT Primary Rate Inferface when it comes to CDMA. Primary Rate is an ISDN/data communications term. The CDMA phone PRI has nothing to do with ISDN concepts.

PRI actually stands for Product Release Instruction. They contain network settings for the radio.

PRI and NV are not necessarily the same versions. One can flash NV to a newer version and it does not update the PRI.

NV is typically "Non-Volatile" [memory]. In this case, they generally contain information like MEID/ESN/EVDO credentials, etc.
