Help facebook contacts don't show up?!

This problem has been bothering me for a while. When I add a phone number with the name of my friend that is the same on my facebook, sometimes it just couldn't find the right one to link to?!

Also, the worst part is even I link it manually, I can't find the contact on the facebook for HTC?! However, I can find contact perfectly with the facebook app on the phone or on the computer. I just don't know why somehow my facebook contacts are missing while I try to link them. Anyone has the solution for this?

P.S. I sync all the stuff I can sync already and it doesn't help. The solution I found before is that wait for a couple of days and suddenly it would just show up and YES it's LAME.

Try clearing the FB App cache & Contacts cache under menu, settings, applications, manage applications.

There's no cache can be cleaned. The only option is to clean data. I also cleaned people cache. But no help...

Mine does the exact same thing. The real bummer is that my phone does not recognize my WIFE on FB, so I cant sync her infor in my people folder. WTF???? I just did a factory reset of Froyo 3 days ago.

I've checked out other sites for the same problem. However, some are not solved but some somehow got solved around July 2010. Also this problem seems to exist for quite a while. There's no conclusion whether it's htc's or facebook's bug.

It's really annoying......

It's a facebook issues...all phones all carriers. Gfs iphone is hit or miss...friends on tmobile same. There was a writeup on facebook a while back. Facebook is trying to keep up with the growing digital world and having some growing pains

There is a facebook/Sense sync issue. However as you mentioned July - The problem was corrected at this time. There is some other cause in your situation. and it's not "growing pains"

We have three phones in the house...only one htc...one tmobile...one sprint...one art....all three have this issue intermittently .....and facebook has this..along with 10-15 other growing pains. Its not all their fault. Htc apple etc implement something then they do...its a vicious cycle

There is a facebook/Sense sync issue. However as you mentioned July - The problem was corrected at this time. There is some other cause in your situation. and it's not "growing pains"

Guys, found the solution! I was having "google contacts sync error." So I followed the steps from this thread:

I deleted my FB for HTC Sense and log out the FB app too then add it back. Guess what, it syncs perfectly right now! I got everything from my FB. So yeah try it out!

Sorry to bring back this thread, but I just can't help but complain that facebook linking to android contacts sucks so badly. After a while, this problem occurs to me again and the method I used last time doesn't really work this time. Not just for the new contacts, even for the old contacts, facebook link just can't recognize it. I even tried to link it manually but the contacts on facebook wouldn't show up so there's no way that I can link it at all.

If anyone has a way to solve it permanently, please let me know. This problem is getting really annoying and frustrating.

unfortunately I think the real issue is the network relation...and it happens on both sides.
