Does anyone have any insight on how or even if this could be done. I don't see why it couldn't be done but from what I see it seems pretty locked up and I have nooo idea how to get into it. If anyone could guide me the right away I'd realllly be appreciative!

taken from the great defictism himself: "Start by flip flopping the left and middle button sources in buttonbar.xml. Then you will need to remove htc's time bomb code from launcher.java and buttonbarlistener.java. then you will need to hand code your package name, activity, and intent in launcher.java, via a custom method. Go back to your listener, and change the method from addtohome to the custom method you created in launcher.java. "

BTW this is used with smali.
