These metamorph theme files will install the stock Android lockscreen/dialer sliders onto a rooted, busybox'd, deodexed, 2.2 Droid X. It will work on any ROM or theme so long as the previous requirements are met :)

The lockscreen looks like this (just the sliders, other parts may differ depending on theme):

And the dialer answer/ignore sliders look like this:

Installation Instructions

As always, make a backup first so you can restore if you don't like this mod, or trouble strikes

-Download Metamorph from the market (it's free)
-Run MM once and make sure all checks pass
-If you run into issues (i.e. system not enough memory), download 'Busybox Installer' from market and use it to install busybox.
-Place theme file on /sdcard/AndroidThemes
-Open MM again and choose new theme
-Let it extract the theme
-Apply Theme

*Most likely your phone will reboot on its own. Don't be worried :)

Please update to the latest ApeX if this isn't included in your version!

Hey FAB, FYI this also replaces the status_bar_header_background.9.png which in this zip is gray. some themes have white text in that area so it may look strange. i just replaced it with the .9.png image i wanted and re applied with no problem.

whoops!

That's what errant clicking gets me :(

I've fixed it and the link in the OP. Sorry if that messed anyone's theme up!

Sweet I want to try this.

Question though, is there an easy way to deodex? I don't even know what that is, but I know I have to get this done on my phone to do all this cool stuff. I'm rooted though, so step one is done.

Yeah, there's an easy way to just install a .zip with bootstrapper to deodex.

Go here: 928Droid Themes for the Droid X

Find the "back to stock 2.2. deodexed", and that should do the trick.

-----

BTW, the stock dialer sliders are done, I just need to package them into a MM.

Thank you and forgive my ignorance here, but if I'm rooted, why would I want to go "back to stock" deodexed?

What is deodexing?

Thanks!

The "back to stock" refers to the theme. It basically deodexes your phone completely and returns all your stock apps. This is the easiest way to do it. There are other methods too. You can find the threads on them in this forum by doing a search for 'deodex 2.2 ota' or something similar.

If you need more help, you can find it in that thread.

omg post post post post please!!!!! :)

It's up!

Thanks I will take a peek at it. I may end up posting a thread with specific questions after I read these informational threads.

Quick question though, if I do this will I have to return my phone back to stock (for real) when another OTA comes out?

For example if I have apps frozen in TIBU, install this, and then an OTA comes out would I have to reverse everything I did to accept the OTA?

If I'm not being clear let me know, its been a long night and day for me here.

TIA!

@Fabolous...I tried modifying the image to try to make it look like pacman...why does my pacman not move? Is there something specific about the images I'm missing?

Haha, it's not as simple as just replacing the images. You need to use draw9patch to define the boundaries on which the image will stretch, then recompile the images.

If you search for .9.png guide, you can find more info.
