Then ill know if I like it!

Your "friend" isn't buying it?

Well, he feels like a complete d-bag, which he is. But im pretty sure he is short on money so i asked him to split it, and he said "he'll se what he can do" which means most likely i wont get any $$. But maybe there are some devs here that need an incredible for rom or theme testing?

before i go any further,
do you think you have the capacity to replace the screen if i give
you links to everything you need?

you can do this for $70 and its really not that hard at all.

the inside of the incredible is like a super simple computer.

a few screws and a couple of ribbon cables, not daunting at all..

^ I think I could, and was considering this, but for $30 more, i can just get a new one, and my dad gets a free $200 phone

Yeah, that's always something to weigh. I clearly didn't read correctly and was under the impression yiu didn't have options... I don't know.-_-

Well if you have insurance, that's the way to go!
Now time to learn the differencs between AMOLED/SLCD

yeah, well it'd be $90 to get a refurb, so my mom is giving me her $100 NE2 credit, and I'm buying a new INC, and my dad is using the buy one get any to get himself the fascinate. He is soooo excited lol

What you should do is, get the refurb, then use your moms NE2 to get another incredible and your dad can get the fascinate. Then sell your refurb and you will end up making cash in the end. And of course you aren't violating any phone contracts.. etc. You could make at least 300 selling it on ebay. Which means you walk away with at least 100 out of the whole deal.

So using the insurance its $90, but you only get a refurb??

Do they come scratched and shit? or are they "new looking" devices?
No. I could not tell the difference between mine and brand spanking new ones. I paid the $149 refurb upgrade price (I'm a year out from my NE2) and just sold my Droid Eris on Ebay for $150. Total cost to me for a MUCH better phone after shipping, about $5.
