Help Galaxy S Battery issue

Personally I feel it is a big myth that using LAPTOPS with charger plugged in would damage the battery.

A Laptop battery has limited no. of charge cycles and if people are going to say to unlpug everytime than the battery would be dead very early!

I have read at many places that there is no issue with using the laptop plugged on and in NO USER MANUAL I know till now it is mentioned that you should unplug the laptop. Please correct me If I am wrong. I have been using my laptop since maybe 4 years now with a 9 cell battery and most of the time its plugged in and I can say I am very happy with the battery life.

As far as cellphones are concerned I am not sure.

Regards

I also found that after years of using the laptop with power plugged in all the time, it now lasts maybe 15 mins on battery alone. One workaround used by some people is to remove the battery but keep it plugged in.

For phones, I don't think it is a big issue, since the lifespan is usually 1-2 years (depending on your contract) before you change to another one.

The reminder to unplug the phone from the charger is certainly annoying enough. The problem I have is that I like the phone to be fully charged first thing in the morning, not last thing at night. If I come home at night then I'll typically plug the phone in, and before I go to bed it's usually whining to be disconnected.

Has anyone seen any sign of larger batteries (and a custom back plate and thicker phone) for Galaxy S coming?

That would make the laptop susceptible to voltage fluctations which may impact hardware and in case of power failure you may lose you unsaved work.

Would be great if we got any mod or a senior users view on it.. also is there any application by running which we can always track what are the application that are running in the background beside the system executables and how much is their share of battery intake?

It already exist. Someone has got it maybe here or on XDA and had posted some pictures.

Check out "systempanel" in the app market.
