Help BatteryTime issue?

Canada.
I had installed BatteryTime Lite to give me a little widget on the desktop with remaining battery life. Seemed reasonable...

I didn't think I was having any issues until this morning. I had plugged it in to charge last night, and when I woke up it read "MAX" and so did the stock battery icon, so I unplugged it. When I got on the train (5 minutes later) I noticed the battery life was down to 88%. Now I had done about a minute or two of playing Alchemy but that wouldn't have sucked 12% off the battery :p

Could this be related to the BatteryTime app?

I uninstalled BatteryTime when I got to work and threw the phone on my work PC to charge. I watched it carefully as it climbed up from 85% to see if it would charge fully.

Currently it is up to 93% which is entirely promising, but I'm still kinda confused.

I turn off all wifi and 3g at night, and I have very very few apps installed, mostly just a couple of games and a few cute apps like a flashing app and a cute little bubble level :p I also run Juice Defender, but I had no issues with that for an entire week.

Strangeness... I'm hesitant to re-install BatteryTime, but I can live without it... Was this really related to BatteryTime Lite?

When it's done charging I'll take it off and see what happens to the battery life, but I get the feeling it will be fine now.

I installed a battery app, can't remember now which one and it did exactly the same thing. Couldn't believe where my power was going. Needless to say I did the same and uninstalled it. I think it was one of the ones someone had on their screen from the home screen thread and I thought it looked nice. Haven't bothered with a replacement!

Edit just looked in my search menu on Market and yup Battery Time Lite.

Yeah I took it off the charger when it was at 100% and it's been about 15 (Edit: make that 30) minutes now and there is no drop in battery life at all.

So I'd say it was BatteryTime.. as cute and convenient as it was, I definitely can live without it. From now on it's settings > About phone for me, haha.

Ironically the reason I installed BatteryTime is that it is in the "must have" apps in the Tips thread. But I certainly wouldn't recommend it!

The app is experiencing some problems after the 3.4.6 update, i myself had read the description and comments before the update and didn't update so my BatteryTime is working perfectly. Just give them time to fix the problem.

I'm kind of glad that you had a problem with it too if you know what I mean, I thought it must have just been my phone or my bad luck. Looking at the pics on the home screen thread lots of people are running battery widgets so it must work for some people.

I pretty much know what takes most of my battery power, answering questions on here and on SE's own forum. Keep firing up the old girl and running through sequences to give instructions or try and recreate problems. On Sunday we had a family day so I wasn't around and therefore phone sat on side doing not much, massive amount of battery left in the evening!!

I didn't download any updates for it, maybe I just had the updated version when I first installed it.

Funny thing is that I don't know if it's really surrounding any update or not, because I've found complaints about "My x10 won't charge past 88% - 90%" in other places on the 'net, and similarly people are saying "Remove battery app" (not even necessarily BatteryTime, just differing battery apps in general) and that seems to work for them.

I might check back with it at a later date, but in all honesty, it's a convenience I can easily live without so no big deal.

Description says "Beautiful battery widget(2x1) with customizable interface (different colors) for standard Home Screen" (bold emphasis is mine) -- I'm running ADW, and my husband runs LiveHome, does that mean it won't be compatible with these two interfaces?

As far as i'm aware they should both be compatible - Personally i'm running ADW and don't have any problems, put some shots for you to browse below -

Top Left - Widget on ADW
Top Right - Widget Editor Homescreen
Bot Left - Percentage Editor
Bot Right - Colour Scheme

I got mine on my ADW. It looks good, lets see what it does to my battery. Dropped 3% since I installed it but then have just run three updates from Android market using wifi so have now switched wifi off and we will see what happens between now and bedtime.

Not noticed anything major in battery usage from it - i know mine says 15% but have been out at a training conference since 7:30 - using wifi, done app updates, on phone for 2 hours and used GPS for about 30 minutes - not to mention usual Tweetcaster updates every 10 minutes and email updates every 30 minutes

Seems pretty stable now, and just fiddled with my colours cos I hadn't done that. Liking that... and I can have pink when I go back to my pink theme!!!

Off topic.... does your tweetcaster update via 3g? I can't get twitter updates over 3g only wifi. Wondering if its me!

Give me 2 minutes to turn off the wi-fi and i will tell you

**edit** **treble edit**

Yes - my tweetcaster has updated over 3g - MrsWomble uses Tweetcaster on X10 Mini - updates on 3g too

**double edit**

ROSERED - PINK BATTERY WIDGET - MrsWomble wants it now

You gotta love the pink... what else would Mme Cholet want!?

Just downloaded tweetcaster, typical none of the people I follow are tweeting at the mo so don't know if its working on 3g. I'll see how it goes.

Tweetcaster doesn't work on 3g either... my phone is defective :'(

Bummers! I don't actually do much on it, I just follow a few people... Stephen Fry, Eddie Izzard and the gang from the Gadget Show. I am more a Facebook gal for my social networking (spelt drivel!).

So going more off topic and hijacking this thread even further... what do I do now. Do I try an update on the phone or just live with it until the end of November.

I haven't installed it quite yet, to be honest I'm more interested in what my phone is doing battery-wise without a battery monitor.

The phone's been off its charger now for 5 or 6 hours and I've only dropped from 100% to 95% on idling ... that is way, way better than I was doing even just yesterday (and I haven't cycled the battery since then [drained it and charged it back up again] or done anything differently)

I'm nervous to install another battery monitor as I don't want to ruin my good fortune :p

If it ain't broke, as they say...
