Accessories any way to auto-calibrate the evo battery?

Im referring to HTC's recommended method of calibration (charge while on till led green, unplug and wait till led turns off, plug in till led is green again, power off, then unplug/replug power cord till green and repeat a zillion times)

Some people are using a tool in their AC outlet to detect how much voltage the Evo is pulling, specifically when its on and thinks its 100% though the battery discharges. Is there any way to use this tool (forget its name) by itself or in conjunction with another device to detect when to cut power on/off to the phone while plugged in, based on the voltage its pulling so as to auto-bump charge? As in, when its no longer pulling power, cut the power feed and then resume after 10 seconds, repeat.

this is way out of left field, was just curious.

Actually this is a brilliant idea . The only problem that would occur is finding a way of making sure the delay is enough to restart the charging . I dont have any expierence with the tool you are talking about but I do know what you are referring to . Im sure there is a way to pull this off . After thinking about this briefly one thing does come to mind that could be a possible work around . Using an electric light timer , the ones you can set for your lamp or whatever to come on . They used to have a dial on them with pegs and people use them for christmas lights . One theory that could work would be setting the timer to stay on for say three hours (when you normally plug your phone in at night) then schedule it to cycle on and off a few hours before you normally get up . I think setting up the schedule on one would be a pain in the ass maybe not , but its deffinitly outside the box thinking . The perfect set up would involve a count down timer that would start counting down the minute you plug the phone in . I think I might be making a stop by Home Depot tomorrow LOL

Just an example of what I was thinking . Example if you normally go to bed at 9pm during the week amd get up at 7am Program the switch to turn on at say 8:30 so power is on to the charging cord . You plug your phone in to go to bed at 9pm (power is on) . Program the switch so it stays on through most of the night 8:30PM till say 6am . At which time you program it to cycle on at say 30 min intervals till 7am . The perfect set up would be knowing how long it takes your phone to cycle on its own then modifying the light timer settings to "sync" to it sorta . Just randomly throwing ideas out there

I was obsessed to find the right solution from the time I got the phone through the first month or so. In the end, I'm not convinced calibrating is worth the effort. Just charge, use, and recharge as needed. The time spent going through all the machinations to get an extra bit of power won't make enough of a tangible use difference for that time to ever have a good payoff.

At most I'd recommend you simply do the re-calibration 1) if your phone ever completely runs out of power or 2) if you just have time to burn once a month or every other month.
