Help i LOVED my droid x until ...

love my phone but lately its the little things that are starting to annoy me, maybe you guys can help out the cause and not make me want to throw this thing against the wall. if it helps im unrooted running 2.2. maybe i should root maybe it will help?

1.not being able to save mp3's from gmail app<really wtf? thats basic computer/phone stuff
2.not being able to play mp4 or mov files<once again thats basic computer/phone stuff
3.the overall laginess of the phone is starting to get to me especially in the stock browser it freezer a lot when i hit the menu button, unless my fingers are working too fast i dunno
4.keyboard<stock keyboard had a problem with the space bar if you hit it, it didnt work so i got ultra keyboard while nice is ultra laggy
5.facebook one of my most used things right now and the app sucks, the touch.facebook.com website doesnt work too well either and im not a fan of any of the 3rd party apps
6.desktop software< im using a mac running 10.4<i know thats another problem i need to deal with but im getting a new computer soon lol. this is what i miss about the iphone being able to save all your stuff from bookmarks to apps to calendar to itunes incase of a restore the phone goes right back to where it was with one click of a button

gotta say that i never tried any of that stuff but the lagg is starting to piss me off too..
mostly with it getting stuck in landscape and not going back..

Android supports mp4. It just doesn't play copyrighted stuff like movies bought from apple store.

This one is difficult to diagnois because there are so many things that can cause lag. Mine is pretty smooth, so there's probably something that's causing yours.

You could try smart keyboard pro. IMHO it is the best keyboard out there. Very responsice. It cost $$ though.

I have to agree with you on this one. The facebook app sucks. However you can log into the desktop version on your browser. You have full access including videos

You're not crazy for wanting a centralized place to store all your phone's apps and settings. Some people like that one click thing. The downside to that is you're tied to itunes. I for one like to load stuff onto my phone without the help of itunes.

Lakai yes the landscape lag it's annoying I gotta stand my phone upright to go back.

I'm going to get smart keyboard now I already paid or ultra an it sucks. How can I do a factory reset and save all my pics an apps

Hey guys with rotating issues, have you:

Calibrated your compass in your settings?

Tried a different launcher than the motoblur, like Launcher Pro or ADW for example?

Using one of Beesley's modified build.prop files?

I can tell you that if you do these things, your phone will fly!

If you aren't too tech savvy and don't want to gain root and copy files to the system (the build.prop) then at the least calibrate your compass and install Launcher Pro... it makes a HUGE difference.

Let me know if this helps...

i have launcher pro and im not sure if i am calibrating my compass in the right way.. lol i am rooted so i might has well try the build.prop..

Same here, it drops every few minutes and has to reconnect. Infuriating.

Bump ... I did a factory reset and got smart keyboard and what a relief phone is like a gem now
