Droid vs RIM Blackberry Storm 2

browser vs browser is maybe the biggest difference in favor of android.

...thats not even considering a Blackberry as a GPS enabled device, because with my experiences with Blackberries and their GPS im almost better off carrying around an actual old school map. by far, Droid > blackberry/any mobile device in GPS.

I'd say the camera on the Storm 2 is POTENTIALLY better than the Droid's -right now at least, but TBD for sure this weekend. But other than that, I'm not seeing any other clear advantages to the blackberry anymore.

I currently own a blackberry tour and looking to give storm2 a try.
However, I am also quite interested in the Droid as well.

After gathering some information on both, Droid seems like it'll be more capable than the Storm2 when it comes to entertainment with robust selection of applications. (The adroid app community overall seems much larger and growing rapidly)

Storm2 can pretty much do everything that droid can do (minus the qwerty keyboard), but falls short on few elements. (Camera, free google nav, etc.)

Superior is always subjective. Android really falls short in providing built-in centralized device management, the granular ability to lock down features, etc that the BB offers and that many corporate clients find invaluable. From a consumer's perspective, Android may be a better option. However, it still depends on the priorities of the individual.

IMO you're missing the boat. Having used BB's for ages, I'd say that Android is far more versatile than any BB. The app selection is also much larger in the Android world. Don't fall into the trap of spec sheet racing. Specs don't lie but they don't tell you everything. Yes, both have similar capabilities but I wouldn't say that the Storm2 does everything that the Droid does. Try out both in person. As an example, both can browse the web but I strongly prefer the browsing experience on Android.

I don't think anyone is playing Final Fantasy VII on their BB, either. Or watching xvids. But some people don't care for these things, either.

i made the move from S2 to droid1 about a month and a half ago, and i would NEVER look back. i was a devoted BB user for 3+ years and i thought there would be some things i missed when i left, but honestly, the droid can do everything a BB can do and SO MUCH MORE! customization is infinite and having 10x more apps available than BB allows you to find one that will imitate any BB feature you miss.

I think both have their advantages. For most people, android is better. But android falls a little short in a couple areas: Email. Yes android is great for Gmail, but is only ok with others. Also, call quality. I've had 3 droids, and all three have much worse call quality than any of my blackberrys. Its all about what is important to the user and what they need. One example i hear from many people is that they dont like touch screens. Well, No android device would work for them!
