Hey guys! Just replaced my Samsung galaxy i7500 to a Nexus one :) I used a custom rom to get froyo on it.
What custom room should I get for my Nexus, and why? The reason I did it on my galaxy was that I didnt want to get stuck on 1.6. But so far I dont see any reason to root it. Its so perfect!!1111one!1

Depends what you want to do, there are a few Cyanogen Mod 6 being the "Ubuntu" of mods at this point.

Your reasons may differ, but my reasonsoning is as follows:

Root Apps: Specifically apps like Rom Manager, Set CPU, Titanium Backup

I would actually say rooting for those apps alone is worth it. Then you have some newer mods like MIUI ROM which I'm actually about to flash tonight to check out.

If you simply like customizing your experience; see this link http://androidforums.com/nexus-one/37620-post-your-nexus-one-home-screens-11.html#post1647881

If you wanted to also try out Sense, you could do that, you can also get FM radio through CM6 nightlys and the MIUI ROM which is pretty cool.

Basically if your happy with your device how it is, then rooting offers you nothing; however if you simply like to tinker or want more options then root is the way to go. Otherwise enjoy your N1 in it's factory glory which is pretty awesome too.

Thanks guys! The phone is a beast, and I love it! The only thing I need help with, is to find a better Task killer. I use Advanced task killer, but some of the app just keeps rebooting. I would also love to get rid of some stupid sstem apps, like amazon.

Edit: And I also got this other problem. The phone goes in and out of 3G at random it seems. Sometimes i have 3G, other times I dont. I tought it was because of the 3G coverage in Oslo, but even when my friends iPhones are on the same network, they get 3G and I dont.

Don't use a task killer with an N1, really it will more harm than good. Cyanogen will give you long back button to end current task but that's as far as you need for task killer.

Cyanogen now has FM radio thanks to MIUI which is the latest in a long list of reasons to run Cyanogen on N1.

Thanks mate :) I'm still used to my old galaxy, and always thinking bout the RAM ^^, but ive uninstalled it now :)

Flashed the newest cyanogenmod today, but I feel the phone is kind of slower than with the stock android. Is this usual?

Two suggestions. Test with Live Wallpaper on and then off. The only thing that I can notice that affects performance is LWP and then only when opening the dock. Also try LauncherPro in place of ADW, I think it works excellent with Cyanogen.
