Root CyanogenMod for Milestone

CM6 mod has to be 10 x better then motofrenzy. So much customization features but right now i have hit a brick wall. ADW is super fast and ugly but launcher pro is super pretty and pretty fast but lots of reloads. Also one thing i have noticed why cyanogen mid is that alot more ram is always open. There aren't as many apps that stay open so the phone is always at its fastest.

Only concern is my lockscreen takes a diff picture then my homescreen and the browser sometimes wont load other then that its perfect. AND THE CAMERA WORKS :) :) :)

I will never go back to a 2.1 rom. Flash has spoiled me

Reboot. The first time I switched to an Live Wall or wallpaper, it kept that stupid grass, once I rebooted a couple times later it was fixed.

Ye I saw that. But tbh, I loathe wiping my phone and losing all my settings, games progress etc. so this wipe and install will probably be my last until the phone dies. So I want a ROM that's completely stable with no bugs - G.O.T. seems to turn up new bugs everyday like touchscreen issues, missing Android ID's and what not, edit: I was talking complete shi* saying CM6 doesnt have bugs!

I dunno, all's I want is a super fast, completely bugless ROM that'll last forever. Is that so much to ask!?

Much too much. You will never get anything like that. No such ROM ever existed or will ever exist.

Replace your standard home screen wnith Launcher Pro and 90% of your problems will be solved.

Yah, already done that. And I run the phone at 800mhz so it's quick and smooth. But i'm ready for 2.2 - I never installed the updated 2.1 or the unofficial apps2sd, and now i literally have no space for new apps etc. so need the official apps2sd. Plus i have the music player bug from 2.1.

Just doing a lot of reading on the various ROMs now and weighing up whether I go for one of them, or wait out the official 2.2 from Moto and just do that.

Official 2.2 is still 3 months away at least so if I were you I would go for one of the unofficial ROMs. I have the GOT one and I really like it. I have much more space after removing the factory apps and moved a lot of stuff to SD using TitaniumBackup.

It looks quite good alright, just too many issues being reported for me at the moment. It's only the first iteration using the 2.2 kernal though, so once the "biggies" like battery consumption, wifi issues, and android IDs are sorted I'll look into it further.

Would you say that this is the most complete ROM compared to Telus, Cronos, CM6 etc though??

I cannot say as this is the first unofficial ROM I use with the Milestone.

iv'e been using the CM6 port through all three versions and its been awesome so far. the latest build (0.03) is based on the motorola beta 2.2 kernel and seems to be a little faster for it but there are some other issues that have cropped up for me for example the market doesnt work right anymore and the battery life seems to vanish magically the minute you enable 3g/h.
the level of customization is so totally fantastic though that i'm gonna continue to use it anyway. nadalbak seems to be releasing updates every ten days or so too.
the new camera app for 2.2 is fantastic. absolutely fantastic. adjustable zoom and exposure in both video and stills and a massive increase in still shot speed.

installing 0.03 is pretty involved because you have to start from the sbf of 2.2.1 (which in itself is fairly good) and then zip update to cm6 then zip update to install the google apps (maybe the source of my market woes) so it does take a good damn while to set up.
time a good movie will pass no bother though.

Yes I had problems with my 2.2 update as well I wasn't using this ROM but still had the same problems especially with the battery. I have switched back and all is well again battery lasting me a day and a half.
