Help Can get rid of black screen when in a phone call...

I have a problem with the new HTC Desire HD.

When I make a call the screen goes blank, but I cannot get it back again, even if I press the button on the top of the phone. None of the other touch button function either meaning the only way to finish a call is to pull the battery out!

Look in main board for proximity failiure, as well as the "Phone Freezing after call" in this section, you will find it's a common problem

Yeah, silly us for expecting that companies actually perform QA testing these days, I mean, at least it's something minor

From googling this it seems that holding the light sensor up to a bright light will wake the screen up. Try it and let us know please.........

tried the bright light idea with no luck... The only way I can bring the screen back is by plugging in the usb or headphones!

Restored to factory settings in a dark room, and now the phone responds to light! I can bring the phone back from the dead by putting it next to my monitor.

Still not brill, but combined with the plug method at least it makes the phone usable until the problem is fixed!

Did that on the day I got my phone, no response as yet though...

See the proximity sensor thread, i think there's an easy remedy for this problem.
