OMG- I totally just found the best app in the world!

seriously. my DH and I don't watch tv on our tv much- we usually watch on the computer- either old shows or movies on netflix, or the shows that we don't bother interupting our lives for when we feel like watching them on hulu and otehr web sites.

So- the one thing that was bad about this arrangement is that either one o us had to sit at the computer, or get up and go to it everytime we needed to pause, switch shows, click for a comercial, whatever.

The best app ever- android remote desktop! seriously? it connects by wifi to the computer, and I can use my phone as a remote control for the computer!!! AWESOME! we can cuddle while we watch our programs now! way too cool! and free, too. there is a paid version, but all it does is let you see the desktop on your phone- which might be nice for some fine touch clicking, but overall? not needed. (unless I wanted to be in the other room and play a joke on someone, lol... but we don't do the practical joking much here.)

We use an Xbox as a front-end at each location to stream videos (movies, TV shows etc.) that I download and it works great. I can use the remote to control the Xbox just like every other device at whatever location we are at. I use TVersity which converts files on the fly that aren't native to the XBox and all in all it works fantastically. Once in a blue moon TVersity looses connection with the network and there's an option to restart the connection which then corrects the issue. The problem is that I normally notice this after I settle in with my main squeeze and our two dogs or our company to watch a movie in our theater in our basement. This means that I have to unsettle everyone and head up stairs and across the house to my office where my PC (file server) is located to manually restart the TVersity connection. If I could use my Droid via WiFi to click a couple buttons within TVersity that would be fantastic! I also have a bit torrent client running on that PC 24/7 and I disable that client when I play Xbox LIVE which I also do from my theater in the basement so it would be REAL nice to be able to turn it on and off from the theater w/o going anywhere.

If this app will do this then this could be a quite usefull app to me.

I installed it and I can communicate between my Droid and my PC and have successfully sent text messages via my PC but how do I see my PC's desktop from my Droid's screen? I don't see an option. I only see Web Desktop, Clipboard Master & App Manage. I don't see where I would go to see my desktop and manage programs.

that is in the paid version, which I haven't bought- yet... still thinking on it, since we are broke and it does what I need as is.

Oh, that was the whole reason I installed it. I don't even see an option to pay for more features. Do I have the correct app? Android Remote Desktop? It's not that other remote desktop that was $24.99, was it?

How is this different from something like PhoneMyPC, which can be used over WiFi and 3G/4G - other than cost.

Exactly. When you're at the store do you look for the most expensive item when you shop at the grocery store? If I can find something that will do what I need for free then that's what I'm going with. If not, what's the least expensive and I will compare features to see if I personally can use the added features, if any.
