i don't think seidio even knows when it is coming out. i am pretty sure they use Japanese cells packed in china and it depends on them getting the specs and then testing them. best to sign up to be notified from the site.

I was really hoping that they would have this thing out quickly when I bought my DX. Good thing that Verizons own 1740 mAh is so much better than the stock battery. Seriously, why they don't ship the DX with the 1740 is a complete mystery to me. It took my DX from zero to hero in no time flat!

I would still be curious to know what kind of uptime the 2800 mAh will give consumers (I mean the real consumers, not the guys posting up threads claiming they get 3 - 5 days out of their current stock batteries) though. So hopefully they actually come out with this sucker before the DX end-of-life cycle expires!

i check their site daily to see if it is FS yet. I don't want to spend ~$50 on a replacement battery that only gets like 30% more life if this will be out soon adn give me near double battery life. Ticked they are taking their sweet time with it. Started off as going to be a 3500 mAh battery, then turned into a 2800. Just hurry up and get it out there for us. I swore by these batteries to give me a day from my Blackberrys.

I am lucky to get 8-10 hours out of the stock X battery. I am a 'power user.' My phone is always in my hands, that screen always lit. Rarely do i get over 12 hours use. Rarely

I LOL at those guys so hard. Yeah i get 3 days out of the battery, i just had to turn the screen off, turn off auto syncing, turn off data and 100 other things, crippling the phone til it is basically a really expensive dumb phone wiht a data plan they apparentely never use...yeah no thanks. If you use your smart phone as a smart phone the battery shouldn't last you a day at all. None of mine ever have. Not off a stock battery. When i get the double thick battery, then i can almost squeek out a full day, almost...still not perfect.

Seidio seems to be in the habit of overrating their batteries by about least 20%. Frankly, I don't like buying from companies that have those kind of dishonest practices. Not that all companies are honest, but if a product is advertised to me as a certain spec, I expect it to be that spec or at least a reasonable equivalent.

Seidio's "slim extended" batteries are a prime example. It's a damn battery. You can't give it substantially better life at the same size without a new material in the battery. So all of their ~1700+ mAh batteries really test out at around 1500 mAh - the same as the stock batteries they replace. Cognitive dissonance does the rest. Or, those that own phones like the Incredible, that actually have space under the battery cover, replace their 1300 mAh with 1500 mAh, and never know that they're still 250 mAh short of the advertised capacity.

Anyway. Just sayin'. The 2800 mAh battery, if history is any kind of indicator, will probably clock in at ~2250, or around a 50% increase over stock, not double the battery life.

Not trying to be rude, but what are you doing with your phone all day, if you don't mind? I just can't fathom being on my phone often enough in a 12 hour time stretch to kill the battery...Is it a lot of phone calling, gaming, etc.? I'm just curious...

tst messaging, IM, emailing, surfing the web and facebook. 80+% of my battery use according to the battery meters is Screen On. Just powering the huge screen and keeping it lit. I charge my phone as soon as i get to work, midnight, fully charged by 2 am...and then down to below 50% by 7 am when i am nearing the end of my shift. I am a power user like i said. The screen is always on, and that drains the battery horribly

Its good to hear ppl actually using their phones and making sure that they use everything that they are paying for. when i hear ppl who get a couple days out of it (stock battery) i ask myself how thats possible?? im a pretty heavy user as well, by the time i get home im at least around 50%-40% and by night im down to 15%. i would say the only reason im not any lower when im out during the day is beacuse i dont want the thing to die on me. Ha.

Very interesting indeed. I consider their cases to be of very high quality, so it does come as a surprise to me to hear that they are that way about rating their batteries. In fact I probably would have gone with their 1750 mAh battery had I not found Verizon's extended battery at a nearby Verizon Wireless store (I'm not the most patient guy in the world, so the thought of being able to ride to the store and get it that day trumped having to wait a day or two to recieve one in the mail).

After reading that write up it makes me very relieved because quite frankly I've absolutely been blown away by how much more performance I seem to be getting out of the BH6X as compared to BH5X (stock battery). It's so good I've pretty much lost interest in this 'big daddy' Seidio (might) be coming out with. Had they had it available even a month after the DX's launch date I can assure you I would have had it the instant it hit the market. But because of the snail-like pace at which they seem to be developing stuff for the DX, I found and fell in love with Verizon's own extended battery.

Sure there is still room for improvement in the battery department, I also consider myself a 'power-user', as in I use the power of my DX rather continuously. I have had to develop a much different user profile from my days with Blackberry (had no problems with any of my BB's cutting out before I plugged it back in before bed at night), but by now I'm used to it and have accepted that if you're going to carry around a mini-big screen TV in your pocket then you can't expect the laws of physics to magically rewrite themselves for your sake. Yes I've owned an SUV in the past, so I know how 'thirsty' toys operate.

Bottom line, if you're tired of waiting on this overly-hyped (or so it seems) battery to make it's way to market, I would not hesitate to pick up the BH6X. It is a remarkable improvement over the stock battery IMO.

But that's just me.

There are some other threads that have dissected their batteries and found cells in the batteries whose part numbers match lower-rated cells elsewhere. I put less stock in those kind of things because of the crazy supply chains of many of these overseas manufacturers, but it's another piece to the puzzle.

What I thought was funny was that I had said many times to people that battery technology was such that you just couldn't get something for nothing anymore. If you wanted better battery life, you either needed a different battery technology or a bigger battery. When the Seidio 1750 batteries came out, I wondered what they were doing to squeeze an extra 20% out - if maybe it was actually larger but still fit, or if the OEM batteries (which, BTW, are typically excellent) weren't made as well... And then the test results came back that they WEREN'T squeezing out the extra juice. VINDICATION.
